Hi to everyone on the forum,

I would greatly appreciate your help with this research by Queen Mary University of London!

Public Views on Animal Cognition – New Online Survey

The survey aims to investigate people’s attitudes and beliefs regarding animal intelligence. How do people’s views on animal cognition differ? Which mental abilities are considered the most important? We are aiming to include as wide a range of views as possible to ensure the study is representative of both public opinion and stakeholders in various animal sectors de e.g. farmers, academics, animal charities and hunting societies.

As a thank you for participating in the survey, you will be offered the chance to win John Lewis vouchers (6 sets of £15 each available). The survey is voluntary, completely anonymous and will take around 5 minutes to complete.

To take part and enter the prize draw, simply click on the link below or copy and paste into your browser:

If you experience difficulties accessing or submitting the survey, please contact c.spence@qmul.ac.uk. The project has been approved by the Research Ethics Committee, Queen Mary University of London (Study number - QMREC1405).

Thank you in advance for your time.

I did start the survey but found the scale bar too imprecise as you can't tell what score you are giving in your answers so never actually got past the first question.

Almost impossible to access on a phone, and the questions feel pretty complicated to answer. You'd get better/more answers with a better-structured survey.

I have completed it but I think you would get more responses on here if you made the title of the thread less vague and actually said it was regarding animal intelligence. Also, the word 'animal' is far too broad as some animals are extremely intelligent and other species are not.
