Opinions on a dealer

There's been quite a few posts about this one... I think mostly barge poles were mentioned

I know someone who went to see a mare and came away with nothing...

Hi. I know Riki. He's a nice down to earth person and a very good rider. When it comes to his horses they vary, if its cheap it usually has a reason, but does also sell some really nice ones... If its not far to travel i would say it mite be worth a visit to one of his yards, if theres nothing there suitable then all you've lost is prehaps an hour of your time and some petrol money!

Wouldnt touch him with barge pole, i know of at least one horse he has sold who turned out to be very dangerous - might be worth contacting trading standards or seeing how many CCJ he has against his name too as i believe he has been taken to court because of this at least once - although saying that yes he is a very good rider, but i believe his partner in crime vanessa woodward is a very heavy influence on his lack of morales when it comes to selling.

We brought a stallion from him and find him totally honest over the phone - I actually went to see a different one and he said before we went he didn't think the movement was good enough and we looked at that and another one. Nothing was too much trouble, the horses were all with good beds, hay etc and looked in good condition although the newest in probably dropped off coming over. They are cheap yes because they are probably straight out of the farmers fields but that is sometimes preferable to buy something at a good price and unspoilt.

I can only recommend. No bad experience from our part.

I've just bought a (last week it arrived) horse from him and wouldn't look back. He backed/broke it for me and delivered it...

It came with full papers and he organised the vetting for me... The horse just needed a good groom and it was fine....

He showjumps himself so knows what he's looking for. I found him really helpful..

xx hope this helps xx
