It's the third one down "16 hands 1 in stunning chestnut gelding 11 years"

I have it's BE record link too if anyone wants to PM me for it - has a few interesting things on it

He seems a nice RC type horse. Has done a bit of everything and is good looking. Bar his age, which might be a hindrance depending of what you are wanting from him, I can't see any problems off the advert alone.

What does his BE record say?

He has a long record from 2002-2006

Owner says he has been Pony clubbing for the past year so nothing past 2006.

His most recent results are from 2006 - competing at Novice. 6 runs.
DR scores from 33.3 - 45
SJ results are 2xclears, a 4, an 8 and 2x20's
X-Country - mostly clear with a few refusals.

I am just looking for an all rounder, schoolmaster type and would be happy doing OPN.
I'm not really competitive, just want to have fun on a confidence giving type as I have had 2 jumping wimps in a row now lol

11 is a bit older than I was looking for but I don't think it's too old... opinions on that would be great!

Yes, I like the chestnut dressage/broodmare by Welt Hit II!!! No price though. Not a good sign! Bit like going to one of those restaurants who don't print the prices on their menu with the view that, "If you've got to ask, you can't afford it!"

Looks fairly nice - would query his dressage though - what's his record like.

there are a few other nice ones there too - I like the dun and the grey and the bay above the chestnut. So probably worth a visit in any case. 11yrs is a good age if you want something that been there and done it and a schoolmaster type, it wouldn't necessarily put me off.

11 is certainly not too old, many of the top horses are still competing bythe ripe old age of 20!

Sounds and looks lovely, although i would ask about the 2 x 20 faults in the sj...because that is quite a lot! Also ask if its constantly having that many faults most outings. But then again, could be rider error!

Sounds like a lovely allrounder though and definately worth a visit!

What on earth is going on in the picture of the grey gelding (5th one down) - looks like they have photoshopped OUT a jump

He's landing having jumped a huge hedge out hunting!

The chestnut looks nice but I think the grey and the dun look better quality. I don't like the flatwork picture of the chestnut.

Most certainly do not think 11 is too old L!

At 11 horses are just reaching their prime, and he is old enough that he has a decent amount of mileage and you can just go out and have fun on him - he has experience above the level you want to do which helps too. You could easily have 8 years + competing at the level you want with him, providing nothing goes wrong, which could happen as easily with a young horse anyway.

People worrying about horses being over 10 is quite common these days, but in reality, it is nothing, particularly if you don't intend to sell him on. You can also get very good horses for cheaper because you're not paying the premium of buying a 7/8 year old.

He seems a very nice type, I like him!

He sounds like he is a good jumper but may throw a wobble every so often. His dressage scores, whilst not amazing, aren't awful for affiliated eventing and, as you said you just want to do OPN, I think he would be great.

If you are just looking to do the lower grades and have some fun for the next few years, the age wouldn't bother me. Just look at April and how she is going even now. As long as he hasn't had any persistent injuries or one that could goes problems in his older years, I would say he looks fab!

Have PM'd it to you too!

Thanks so much for replying guys. Most of my horses and ponies have all been veterans (ie over 17!) and my only baby was PTS very young so age certainly doesn't put me off.
Just wanted to check that the price was an ok reflection etc.

I know Rachel, you might see the dun on there that I went to try. The grey is not a straightforward ride apparently, but is nice. The horses will be as described - I am back in a week, if you want me to go see the chestnut for you (she is just down the road) then I am more than happy to
