Opinions on Ariat Grasmere Country Boots

Thanks to CalllyH and JoJo who have already been kind enough to reply on my other thread....

I had originally intended to buy my daughter a pair of MH Forest Highlander Boots for Xmas, but now stocks are delayed till Spring '13, so am now considering the Ariat Grasmere (new style) boots, as I want a pair that are good quality and that she can ride in.

Reading reviews they seem to be quite highly thought of, but my only concern is the fact a few have said they are tricky to get on! So I wondered if any of you who have (or have had) these boots really find this is an issue? Also any other positive or negative comments if possible please?

I love love love mine. They have done 2 winters and are still brilliant (and I have showed them no love or nourishment what so ever). They are lovely and warm and look smart too.

They do take a tiny bit longer to get on (compared to pull on boots) but it's not really faffy or anything.
 
Love mine too, any initial faff fades away as you get used to them and now they take no time at all. Mine are on their 4th winter this year, I wore them in the office for one winter they were so cosy!
 
I have just had to say goodbye to my first pair after thoroughly abusing them for 3 years, and my new pair are waiting for me at work - I love them and really rate them. I have worn them for yard duties, mucking out stinky mares, in the sea, gardening, dogwalking etc etc and still polished them up for a trip to a country pub. The lining finally died in one of them which has made it impossible to get on, but before this I didn't have a problem with them. I do have skinny calves which makes it easier though, but I believe that new ones come with a boot horn to help.
They're cool in the summer, warm in the winter and look nice - I did consider replacing them with a cheaper pair but went for these again as they did the job so well last time round!
 
In terms of fit, comfort and style for both riding and yard work they are great and I love them for that.

In terms of ease of putting on and off particularly if you're in a hurry or impatient they are a PITA. You have to methodically put them on and off and I am constantly trying to figure out the best way to do them up and what to do with all the excess lace - which there is a lot of! I've only had mine about a month so I expect I'll eventually have and tested method :)

I also always use the boot horns provided to put them on and off as otherwise the lining in the backs would get pulled down something you don't want to do at that price. I keep one in the house and one in the car.

I've have also read on another thread in here that some haven't lasted so well - leather cracking a typical feature of Ariats though they have a good customer service. So I'm trying to look after mine with regular cleaning and conditioning.
