Yep they are both there ;) and yep £2500 before, I think it was the sire owner that set/sugested the first price, the private price is much more realistic like you said :)
 
For £2500 I would have thought "hmm a bit expensive" but for £1000 I would say GO BUY HIM!!! Lol. But then I am a sucker for coloureds anyway and I do like his colouring as it's sort of dun ish and white. I bought myself a 15mth old last summer for £900 and he's got no particular breeding (although I am going to try find out who his sire is) but he is also coloured (chestnut and white) to make 16hh +. I just liked the look of him and hope to sort of do the same as you. Whatever he turns his hoof to we will do (hopefully he'll want to do a bit of everything!)
 
At a grand worth a try - at the original price no way.

Do check his hind limbs as some paints, his sire included, can be very straight through the stifle.

Will do, yes I have herd this before with paints. If he was, what would this mean in the long run? Conformation is not my strongest point
 
The stifle corresponds to the human knee joint. If there is little bend at rest ( stood square) there is less shock absorption and less potential push with more chance of wear & tear.
Have a look here as there are some that show excellent conformation and some that are glaring examples of horses that stand with their hocks under their body when the hock to fetlock line is vertical.

I really like him too - and he's well worth 1k. I haven't read all of the posts and not sure how old he is but one word of caution - if no-ones said it yet - check he has two down!!
 
He looks a nice sort. I'd say he was buckskin rather than grullo though. You should ask about his HYPP status with him having Paint lines. It's more common in Quarter Horses, but it's still worth asking about.

I wouldn't buy him unless he's negative (N/N) for it- carriers (N/H) can still attacks.
 
He looks like a cute little colt. His markings are quite symmetrical so a bonus if you wanted to show. Initially I also would not have classed him as grullo but having looked at the close up of his head we can see that his ears have the outlining typical of grullos so it is possible that he will turn once he's a little older.

They have him marketed as tobiano but I would question that as he appears tovero to me.

HYPP is not possible, certainly not the from the stallion, as there is no Impressive anywhere in that pedigree.

Who is the dam? Any photos of her?

Like the others I think he is a very good buy for the money and like the others I would not take the sellers word for two hanging. Make sure you check it for yourself. ;)

It was the fact that his dam's lines aren't listed that made me mention HYPP. Never hurts to ask. :)
 
I really like him too, and am normally not a fan of coloured with a blue eye!

Seen him on Horse and Hound for £1000, probably would not have paid £2500 for him, at that price then definitely go have a look at him and good luck :)

Absolutely :) It wasn't a criticism, I just mentioned it so she doesn't have to search through the sire line and that's why I was also asking about the dam.

I only took a quick look through the pedigree of the stallion to see if there are HERDA carriers in there and from the speedy scan I did of it there are a couple many many generations back so doubtful that they would cause any trouble.
