opinions on dealer's website

the riders sat on those horses are the worst bunch i have ever seen terrible positions yuk they dont do the horses justice the one on the main page looks like he is sat in a bloody arm chair.

i know i sound like a horrid cow but the one they have advertised for sale is not on the bit or using itself correctly it looks like a riding school dobbin i wouldnt touch it with a barge pole and the fact they say they are passionate about what they do where are the other horses for sale and jumping pics ect.

umm.. think they are all quite green (which is what im after) so maybe thats why, oh well cant do any harm i suppose

Im sorry but i totally disagree. They state on there "looking for something to bring on yourself?" Well, to me that indicates that they are not selling perfectly schooled animals? As for positions, its the horses for sale, not the riders.

I think, they look ok Madhector.

no sorry if riders look like they cant ride then i dont want to try what they have been riding same as in horse mags in horses for sale section when you see people riding with no hats on its not big or clever and it dosent look it either it screams out idiot to me its people like that who give the rest of us bad names.

yeah do agree with that its nice to get a project then take a step back and think i did that but i like to see they can go on the bit and jump ect so i know i can work with it and make something of it.

may be totally different when you get there i tend to stay away from dealers full stop if i can tbh but you can find gems lets hope you like it.

good luck

What an odd thing to say, like I said, its the horse, you should be looking at, not the rider.

Just because someone doesnt have the best position, it doesnt mean they cannot ride. Look at some of the top SJers??? I find that a tad narrow minded.

[/ QUOTE ] But that is thier choice, surely? It doesnt mean that the horse is not worth looking at

yeah agree with that i like to see them jump with no rider on board no distractions on top you can really see how and if they jump and lets face it most horses enjoy jumping without the added pressure of a rider on board.

Not met a horse yet that cannot go on the bit and jump (unless for med reasons). Surely thats why you go and view the horse????

everyone has there own ways of viewing horses some will turn up never seeing a pic but i like the whole picture to look nice horse and rider if its not an eyecatching image i just dont bother.

Just my way im afraid if im not amazed by everything in the image i move on just my silly crazy little way

any horse can jump in the sense pop over a fence im talking height agility and style and as for going on the bit yes all horses are capable of it but not all do it nicely.

actually thinking about it, im quite glad there are no pics of them jumping it, dont think that would be very fair on the horse

bought my last one without jumping her, just saw her loose jumped over 1.20 and was amazed by her technique, ok she ended up being a mad raving lunatic, but she couldnt half jump!

Madhector i think the horses look nice enough, agree the photos could be taken better and the riders arent neatly turned out but if its local its worth a look if nothing more.
Marmite i disagree theses horses are ex racers and have quite possibly been out of racing a very short time and are therefore not ready to accept the contact and have very possibly never seen a show jump or a jump of any sort in there life! I would prefer to see the horses working as they are than some numpty forcing them onto ' the bit ' just for a good photo!
Good luck with the visit madhector let us know how you get on

They look ok, not bad condition. Ellie, (bay) looked nice.

lol well the best ones have the attitude but me personally i like to see all the good bits before i go to the effort of travelling to go see one just my way.

and once im there i also asked to see it been brought in from field, brushed, tacked up i also ask for arena gates to be left open to see if they nap ask for fillers to be used when jumping if they say they have none i take coats off and hang them over poles just my own way of trying them.

we were asked opinions of website my opinion is i dont like look of riders on them horses look nothing amazing and my opinion is i like to be stunned at what i see simple as that.

again been honest i avoid mares at all cost never got along with them dont gel with them at all lol im a stroppy mare at times so i clash lol.
