But then it is obvious that you are looking for a completely different type of horse. A been there, done that type, something "on the bit" and looking pretty. A pic of a horse on the pic does not mean that the horse works correctly anyway does it? The pic could have been a one off? Like I have mentioned, any horse can work on the bit, a pic of it doing so does not imply it can work in a correct outline in the correct manner.
By only looking at "pretty" pictures, there is a huge chance of missing out on some bloody nice animals.
I always joke my 16hh grey mare is my 15.2 bay gelding as when i bought her i was positive that i didnt want a mare and that 15.2 was perfect size. Sometimes the right horse comes along and isnt what you expected i swore i would never have a mare but Skye (my mare) is the easiest horse ever, you wouldnt know she is in season, isnt grumpy with other horses and is very easy to do.
Go with your gut instinct madhector as soon as i sat on my mare i knew she was right for me.
i 100% dont know what it is but me and mares hate each other think i have only ever gotten along with about 3 mares in my life the mare we had before warlock hated me with a passion i got along with blackhawks old mare dorey after we got over the initial chasing me out of the fiels phase lol.
so what she's not 'on the bit'. why are people so obsessed with it? its easy to get a horse to tuck its nose in, but it probably won't be truly working from behind correctly. she's only 4 so possibly not long since been backed (or out of racing). if u get a horse that u like u can work on all the other stuff.
good luck

Think you said Notts was a bit out your way but these people are just across the field from us very reputable dealers (used to own caythorpe equestrian centre) Have seen the mare and she is a lovely little thing needs some weight on as is wintering out.
i can see why u'd be put off with a mare if your current horse is going to be a problem. but if u happened upon a mare who was perfect................? lol
gets horribly attached to mares and if they dont like him he attacks them, had a horrible incident last summer where he started flirting with my friends mare(great big HW cob) and she took offense and backed off, so he went for her teeth bared, unfortuently she got him cornered and kicked the living daylights out of him, and he just kept biting her! we thought she broken his ribs bless him, but he never learns
