Opinions on Equidrys?

Hi I am in need of a new long coat. I have seen that lately Equidrys have been the latest trend and are highly rated. I am considering buying one but my only concern about them is that every Equidry I have seen comes down to the chins/ almost ankles. Does this not get in the way and easily covered in mud?
 
I bought 2 sizes down to what they recommended as didn’t want to look like such a giant sack of potatoes. I am always roasting hot in coats so no desire to be able to layer, especially in my equidry as they are so warm! It comes to just below my knees and I still have room for multiple layers under if I want. I do wear a big hoodie under it on freezing mornings until I’ve warmed up after about 5 mins!
 
I should have bought a size smaller. It's great when I've been sitting in a cold school or stewarding but to be honest on the days I'd needed it to ride because of the weather I've gone in the indoor instead. Perfect for standing in the cold stewarding though.

I got the Shires Aubrion All Weather Robe instead which is quite a bit cheaper and just has the one zip at the back instead of one on each side.

Unlike the Equidry which everyone should buy in XS, I'm in a M in the shires and it's comfortable with my BP underneath.

The one thing to consider is how many days each year are the right weather to wear it. You can't do any work (mucking out) in it because you'll be overheating in seconds.
 
I bought a Regatta changing robe for about £50 and can't fault it. It only has one zip but it would be a cheap alternation to get additional zips put in if required.

I’ve worn my Equidry loads even in the relatively balmy south of England. I’ve the pro-lite version and it’s been brilliant in both the awful rain and the freezing weather where it also keeps my legs warm. I’ve hacked in it comfortably a few times too. About 5 adults and two kids practically live in them on our yard.
 
Love my Equidry Pro Lite. I've worn it at the yard and outside most days this winter, inc dog walking. It is for colder weather, but then that's what it is designed for 🤷‍♀️.

Perfect eg for today for hanging around on a shady yard waiting for a routine vet visit. I'd have been frozen normally. Plus it keeps my clothes underneath clean and not covered in hay (or worse).

I layer up or down underneath it according to the temp from just a polo shirt to a padded gilet over a thick fleece.

This for me too. Comfy with body protector underneath. For the amount of use it gets, I think it is worth the money, to have the zips and wrist guards and pockets and arm length, and overall length just right.
 
Love mine….especially on cold days when hacking out….so much warmer especially if there’s a biting wind! Highly recommend.
 
I love mine too. It’s now about a year old and still waterproof. Has had lots and lots of use, most days, and could do with a trip in the washing machine very soon. I’m thinking about buying a lighter one but also have diverted to UHIP to compare the flexibility. I like the fact it fits over anything so nice and cosy in the mornings to take the dogs out first thing.
 
I've recently bought one and love it. I bought the XS Tall and its long on me, but that's what I wanted. I've got loads of room under it, even with a body protector on too. I tried a cheaper Snug Robe but it want long enough and was too loose at the neck so I felt cold. It's great to ride in.
 
Friend at the yard has one, she loves it. I can't have a fleece lined coat or I'd overheat, but have seen they are bringing out a no-fill version so I will be getting one when I get my bonus next month!
 
Love mine. I basically live in it. Yard work, riding, dog walking! I hate layering and it’s perfect as im toasty with leggings and a tee shirt or hoodie underneath! Also the perfect disguise for wearing no underwear to the early morning farrier visit you’ve rolled out of bed late for 😂

one side note is I wish due to my lack of desire to layer I bought the size or two down, maybe next year…
 
I LOVE mine!
I am quite a “cold” person so I find it brilliant - I ride, do yard chores and walk the dog in it, I am a size 8/10 but bought a XS so I can layer up underneath!
It comes to mid calf but it doesn’t get too muddy.
Don’t know what I ever did without it.

Do you mean the Equi dry lite? Without the fleece but still some insulation? Or something new?

Something very new, and very interesting :). Basically a no fill Equidry with a mesh lining. I'm waiting on new purchaser feedback re whether to stick with the same sizing (I've got an S lite) but am very tempted.
