Opinions on Equitrek Trailers, show and star

Has anyone got/used Equitrek show or star treka trailers (I would need the L size), and have any opinions on them?

I am thinking about getting one to replace pre-historic ifor williams 510 (its knocking on for 20 years now but still going strong!), as ideally I would like somethingt ith basic living for the occassional overnight stop.
It would be towed with a Landrover disco with 3.5t payload and I have my B+E trailer test.
Curently have 1 16.3hh tb X who travels well.
 
Borrow one to try your horse in first before you commit. I know people say that every horse travels better backwards but that has not been my experience!

^ Good idea. Hire is an inexpensive way to try one out.


I have the Show Treka L and I must say I love it - I love the space for changing/storing. I have a tack box too. It's light and roomy. Yes the build is quite lightweight in places, but overall I am very pleased with it and the way it tows etc.
 
I have hired the small horse box things were the horse travels backwards and is fine. Cin is quite tall, but literally would load/travel in anything no bother. I dont know of anyone who has got one so I can't try borrowing one :(
 
Thanks for the advice so far. My Dad does service cars for a living so he can do the odd repair and look after it pretty well, which seems to the main problems with them. Now all I have to do is find one! and find some money! :D
How much better is the Star treka to the show treka because there is quite a jump in price.
 
Sorry just realised mine is the Space Treka L not the Show treka. Mine was around 4 years old and I paid £4,300 for it secondhand.

Could you not hire one? They seem to be popular around here for hiring out. Maybe worth contacting a local dealership who may have one for sale (if you are buying 2ndhand) and let you try it out.
