Could potentially be real long term issues. I wouldn’t say no, but it would be in the token monetary gesture dept for me, certainly wouldn’t expect it to be carrying a proper price tag in that situation.

I went to see the horse and it was interesting - the photos seem to have made the problems look much worse than they are in real life. I tried taking some pics of my own but they just came out the same. There are obviously cracks and a big hole where someone has dug out seedy toe, but the cracks appeared much smaller than on the photos and there wasn't the hoof wall deviation that the photos suggest. The white foot especially seems to look deformed in the pics but wasn't in real life. Even the coronary band wasn't raised in the way it is in the picture. It was a very weird experience! Footage definitely shows a toe-first landing so I wonder if that is enough to create the cracks, and also how easy it would be to correct. The back of the foot didn't look terrible and there was some digital cushion - it wasn't one of those that flexes with finger pressure. Slightly broken back hoof pastern axis but again not terrible. Going to speak to my trimmer about it properly and do some more research because I did like the horse. I went from thinking 'rehome' from just the pictures to 'possibly worth something' when I saw her in the flesh. Good to have input on here too!
