my 5yr old mare has recently moved to a friends yard to be backed and bought on. she has gone from living out doing nothing to being worked most days with hacking most days. my friend does not have a manege and tbh thats good as my girl needs to hack out and find life interesting to get her going forward of her own free will before spending time schooling.
she is turned out on a concrete yard all day every other day and in the field every other day (if she is in the field every day she plays cats cradle with the electric strip grazing fence)
her feet are rather round shaped and i go do with some suggestions on the hoof boot front

edited to ad she is just a little foot sore and i think putting boots on when she is on the yard for 12 hrs maybe enough to give her feet a chance to catch up with the change in work load

The cavallo simples are fine for rounder hooves, and quite easy to put on and take off.

You can often pick these up cheaply second hand on ebay too.

Although I have recently bought a pair if equine fusion which look lovely - sadly not been used yet due to the snow!

I've got the wide easyboot gloves. No complaints about them apart from the gaiters rubbed until I took some of the padding out of them. They stay on well and grip is pretty impressive on most surfaces.

And another thumbs up for Cavallo hoof boots. I have several pairs of the Simple boots and cannot recommend them highly enough.

if you join the phoenix barefoot forum there is a section on there where people sell second hand boots and lots of advice and opinions on different boots.

Preloved is also good.
