I'd refine that to 'Never get on a horse unless you see someone else ride it first'. If you have any doubts at all about it's behaviour, don't get on.

Absolutely I’d never get on before seeing it ridden!

I will say one general thing about viewing young horses, always ask how many different people have ridden it, and when, and that’s before you get on it yourself.

And also if the advert states that the horse does not like a certain type of rider, do ask just what the horse does to show its dislike of that type of rider.

Yeah I’d kind of taken that as read, see the horse ridden but also ask who else has been on it. So many are ridden by one person only and a strange body can be a bit mind blowing for them.

Yes, and still people are giving actual diagnoses ?

They would hold more sway for me if they had sound horses themselves.
