Here are both my boys free schooling over jumps. Could you please give me your opinion about their shape over the fences please? One is bred to jump and one is bred for dressage....

Apologies for the poor quality photos.

both look good, excellent front leg style. how old are they?

Thank you. The grey was first time ever jumping so I was quite impressed. He's 3. The black has been free schooled over jumps a couple of times, he was looking a little messy but seems to have improved. He is rising 4.

Both look super. Is the 4yo backed?

He was light broken end of Summer 2010, then turned away for the winter and I've just recently started him again. Haven't got very far though with the rubbish weather and dark evenings :(

What do you mean by snappy? haha I'm not the sharpest....

Both have super front ends, both look scopey. If they use their hind ends as efficiently as their fronts your all set!
The term "snappy" usually means the horses ability to snap the knees up to the ears, quick, high and tidy (even and tight).
What are your plans for them?

Thanks for informing me on that, I was slightly lost haha!

My plan was for me to compete the grey at jumping and for the black to compete at dressage as he has superb paces. But if my black proves to be a good allrounder, which he might after seeing him jump...I may have to try some eventing in the (far) future! I will have to see how things go....I've never competed at cross country before!
