Thinking about getting ice vibe boots for my horse that's on long term box rest. Her hinds have swollen considerable and because she's not allowed to do any walking for the next 6 weeks I thought these could give her some relief. ?

Thanks guys

I don't know if they will do any good or not, but the different senastion will be a change and break to the day when on box rest. I think they may affect the circulation, let us know if they make the swelling go down!

Thanks for the reply; I've done a lot of reading & reducing swollen legs is a feature of this from the vibrations. She'd have it on twice a day & anything to reduce her discomfort give a try!

Ive only had my ice vibe for about 2 weeks & I love them.

Did they help reduce swelling? If so, what was the cause of the swelling?

One of mine has arthritis so his back legs fill when standing in overnight in winter and I considered these boots (just for vibration not the ice therapy).

We've used them to great success on the yard. They do indeed reduce swelling, increase circulation and so far the ones we have used it on for tendon injuries seem to be healing with a more consistent tendon fibre up til this point. We haven't had them long enough to have a horse back on the track after using them for this but all signs are good.

The hock boots have really helped an arthritic horse be able to work much more comfortably and continually.

I would most certainly invest in them. Even when your horse is back in work they will be handy for cooling down tendons and the likes after hard work.

.

How were they used on this horse? Before or after exercise or daily? With or without ice?
have a hunter with arthritic hock and was thinking about them for him

Love them....they have really helped my big boy with a history of lymphangits/cellulitis......if he is I for more than 4 hours his hinds swell, and the ice vibe boots are great at reducing the swelling

He wore just the vibe before exercise then ice and vibe as soon as he was back in his box in the morning. He thejn had ice and vibe put on again in the afternoon every day.

Brilliant set of kit! I brought mine when my guy tore his SDFT he wore them everyday twice a day for 2 months at the beginning of his 6 month box rest, minus the ice as i was cold hosing in between and using the boots to reduce swelling which they did! He then worse them at least once a week after that, 11 months on and his legs are amazingly healed and we are back in work! I still use them when his legs fill which they tend to do if he is in overnight and will use them for icing if/when we get back to eventing!
