Hi all, I'm in the USA and Ramiro B is just now available to us via frozen semen in 2014. I've searched on google and youtube extensively and found lots of offspring (that I love) but I'm interested in hearing more about them from people with firsthand knowledge. Is there anything he throws/doesn't throw consistently? What kind of mare is best suited for him?

Specifically I have a 16.3h Hano/TB mare that I have in mind. She's got a great work ethic and is super easy to ride... I'd be happy with a carbon copy of her except with a better canter, a little more elasticity, and more scope. Looking to get an amateur jumper (so 1.25-1.35m capable).

Thanks!

I'm thinking of using him on a mare I have next year. My SJ trainer Alec Trickett knows the guy who jumped him in Ireland and the one thing he always seems to pass is a great temperament. His offspring are doing the job in SJ and Eventing but he is quite chunky so I'm guessing that you would need a blood type mare for an eventer.

One thing I noticed about his offspring is how genuine they are and how they just jump for the rider whatever the spot or position. They just want to go.
I've seen R.b in the flesh and he is a chunky big heavy boy now but if you look at photos of him in his youth he did look a lot finer and sportier.
I would say his stock don't seem to look particularly handsome or attractive but they obviously do the job very well indeed!

Super stallion! Have met him at stallion shows a few times and he is such a lovely boy. Truly one that you fall in love with. He might be an old boy but he looks incredible and really excellent mover! The foals I have known by him have all been strongly stamped and similar to him and I would say he would need a blood mare but I imagine as yours is half TB then you have already covered that one. I find his foals to be pretty plain initially but they are always talented and grow into lovely animals.

I would echo eventrider's comments - met him both in Ireland and since he's been over here, and he's looking so good for his age. Beautifully put together, and lovely temperament, but with a bit of spark! I've seen quite a few of his youngsters competing in the lower levels of eventing, (and doing well), mostly ridden by amateurs, and they have all seemed talented, willing and very sane. Would definitely recommend him
