Hello everyone,

My name is Alex and I am a final year Bsc Equine Science degree student at Oxford Brookes University. I am currently taking a module in Equine Ethics and Welfare and for this have to give an hour long seminar on the topic of Rollkur (hyperflexion). I have created a short survey that should only take a couple of minutes on the subject of Rollkur and would be incredibly grateful if anyone who has a spare moment could please complete my survey so I can use the results when giving my seminar.

The link to the survey is bellow, it is only 10 short multiple choice questions so should not take long to complete.

If you have any other comments to make on the subject please feel free to also post on here to to private message me. Any and all opinions or experiences dealing with Rollkur are most welcome and would be of great use to me.

Thank you in advance
Alex Thompson

Thank you Nicnac, I will post my findings from the survey once I have analysed them so anyone interested can see what I have found. I am going to keep the survey active for a week so I can collect as many results as possible, by then I should hopefully have some interesting results to share with everyone :) I will not comment on any results that have been submitted so far as I do not want to influence anyone who is yet to complete its opinions :)

If you do a search on here there are a lot of detailed discussions on this topic so you should be able to pick up more detailed views.

It would also be interesting if you were able to access the views of people who use this training technique as in general it is not widely used in the UK (where most forum members tend to be based).

Finally for clarity I think you should have distinguished between hyperflexion, an FEI approved training technique, and rollkur, a variant of that technique banned by the FEI because presumably a lot of people who use hyperflexion disapprove of rollkur.

I don't, because I can see why someone would use hyperflexion (if it is what I think it is) as a really deep stretch.

Thank you so much everyone who took part in the survey I am amazed at how quickly I gained the responses needed. My original goal was to collect 30 responses but as I have now reached 100 in just over a day I am going to close the survey for now and start to analyse the results. I am shocked at how many of you took the time to help me so thank you everyone and I will post any findings I have when I have analysed them. Thank you again
Alex
