As title really looking for a new car in the hope that I can eventually get a trailer. Going to see the animal version of this tommorow and I'm looking for opinions. It will be a family car also must fit 3 medium sized children :)

Tows well, but the turning circle is huge and takes a bit of getting used to. I have done a lot of towing with mine and am considering getting the suspension uprated a bit (but I do have a large, very heavy, Rice trailer)

Lots of space inside the vehicle for passengers and a very comfortable ride

No idea about yours but i have a Mit Lancer and i hate it, yes power is there however bluetooth does not work had 3 new sets put in still no good and petrol keeps going up and down so have no idea how much i really have in.

My husband has had 3 of these, personally i hate them! The ride if you sit in the back is truely awful. Avoid the 04 plates, the engine blew up on that one, apparently a well known fault if you google it. If you want to use it like a car the "boot" is useless, all your shopping falls out the bags, goes towards the cab and then you can't reach it!!!

I have a '54, really like it - towed a 16.2 fat old bag and a cob no problems, nobody is car sick in it, spacious enough for a family of three, plus 3 large dogs and 3 bikes but like The Watcher mentioned - turning circle is enormous. Despite that, it is easy to park as long as you can suffer the humiliation of 763 point turns (you get used to it). :)

Mine was rubbish ,as mentioned cant turn it & they have a tendency to blow head gaskets ,the warrenty was just out when the gasket started to go on mine ,I was very fortunate that someone then stole it !!

All the above, hated driving son's it was like a tank and had no guts to pull away from junctions; kept putting foot down and nothing happening, not nice on busy roundabouts although once rolling was fine! Very glad when he sold it.

Hideous. Turning circle of the QE2, horrendous ride in the back (due to leaf springs, so maybe worth upgrading if you can be arsed) and we got ours chipped to improve the performance slightly... didn't tow with it, would imagine it couldn't pull a skin off a rice pudding

We had the Trojan (sounds like condoms) - wasn't my choice, former MrB wanted it.

Honestly, get a Disco 4 if you can - way, way better. 7 seats and perfect for towing.

Had mine 9 years and it's great. Tows an IFOR 510 with 2 large warmbloods in the back no problem. The only downsides are turning circle and fuel consumption. But then I got it for towing which it does very well.

A triumph of marketing!! not great and now the other manufactures are bringing out new models there are much better choices, ford has a new ranger which is getting great reviews and can tow over 3 tons!!! Isuzu has a brand new truck due out anytime and that looks very tempting with a 165hp twin turbo engine ... my advice would be shop round ......

we have had our l200 animal for 3 weeks and absolutely love it! Its an 06 plate. we are getting 32 miles to the gallon which is more than our little family car did!!!! its a comfy ride and the seats are really smart and comfy. Tons of room in the back cab and the kids are happy in the back, in fact they love it!! We shall be towing with ours next week for the first time so will see what its like to tow but honestly i dont find it slow to pull away and it rolls down the motorway smoothly. I wonder if the older ones werent very good?? i guess it depends on your budget and what age you are looking at but can honestly say so far well worth the money!

We have a 55 plate for the farm and towing the horse. It is only 112bhp, was sold to us as chipped to 170 but thats another story. Tows really well although a bit more power would be good, not too much of a prob with 1 horse. Turning circle is poor and the visibility with the pick up back on is terrible, used to have a swb shogun and could reverse the trailer anywhere with that but with the L200 i can't see the damn trailer half the time. I find it hard to get stuff out the back of the pick up as i'm too short. Drives nicely though but is a bit thirsty, wouldn't want to use it as my only vehicle.
