If you have read previous posts of mine you will know that I have been having a few probs with my horse when jumping. He is incredibly fresh and accelerates off all over the place. I have been working on an exercise suggested by someone on here that is helping, jumping and then stopping between two cones a certain number of paces after the jump. Have also been doing canter poles in a large circle (as corners seem to get him really excited), have also left the jumps out in the ring whilst working him so he does not get over excited when he sees them. Do you think the canter poles and leaving jumps out etc, are useful exercises to help him? I think they are, but would like some of your expert opinions please.
