they are urrmmm interesting!! LOL!! and yes they do look just like a blanket/towel!!

May as well just get a fleece blanket. I think they are just for drying/cooling the horse/pony off, so the horse would be tied up when using them.Other than that they look pretty useless and i don't think i will join in with the new craze!!! ~The Shetland looks cute though.

Me either, i personally think they are useless... Like you said a fleece/cooler are just as good.
And yes he/she looks very sweet indeed!

As said, they are not 'rugs' as such and not designed to be worn around the field, in the stable etc, just used for drying/cooling. I've seen them around but don't now of anyone having bought one - yet!

Wasn't there a cooler type thing that used to be used regularly on racehorses years & years ago? Around about the same time as 'balloon' breeches?

I could be veeerrrry wrong though!!!

We use them in the US a lot. They hook over the horses ears at one end and under the tail at the other and sometimes they have a hidden belly strap. They work really well and you can put them over a saddle to keep a horse warm pre/post riding if it's cold or to cool a horse off when he/she is warm.

Used over here a lot too, Horze is a danish chain i think.

Anyway, theyre just coolers, theyre not designed to be worn over night or anything. They work prefectly fine as coolers also.

Theyre not the first to use this design. Even horseware did a similar rug a few years ago.
