Opinions on this horse please

I have a feeling that that ad has been linked to before. Sorry, I just can't remember whether it was for a good or bad reason. Maybe someone else can remember?

What does she want to do with him? In the first part of the vid he looks to be walking ok but later in the field he is not showing a correct walk it is almost lateral or pacing and very hard to correct, I would be careful.

would be for happy hacking and just general fun - nothing serious.

I noticed something in the walk too but couldnt put my finger on it, now you've said pacing it is so obvious, dont know how missed it!!

Looks an honest sort.
He is being ridden by someone who believes getting a head set rather then horse on the bit. Hands are continually sawing and hands fixed on her thighs.

The saddle looks to far forward and could be digging into his shoulders. He is long in the back and does dish somewhat.

I do not think he is uncoordinated at the walk, he is being stifled by the riders hands and his hocks are in the next county. (There is no such term as 'pacing' at a walk)

I do not dislike him, and if I were looking would go see and try. However I would want an experienced vet to go vet him.

Careful all I've just had the button pushed on me and a warning for asking about a horse that was advertised on H&H tonight:mad:

seriously! what's wrong with asking for opinions on a publicly advertised horse?

No sinister reason, friend is genuinely interested but first time buyer so doesnt know what to look for in terms on conformation, movement etc. A little extra input is always useful before you spend your hard earned cash :)

I see something going on behind, the hocks are going up and down but the horse isnt stepping under, this could possibly be due to the rider, and improve if the horse is allowed to go forward with more encouragement from the leg, there is an obvious head tilt, again possibly the rider pulling the horse into a false frame which if the back end came through more and the rider allowed and didnt block might just be down to that, im another who'd advise a vetting

not an expert, but looks a nice genuine lad well worth a look I would say. I think a lot of his problems could be thorough rider error and badly fitting tack though would def just want him vetted.

Nothing wrong at all but the phantom button pusher is out there:eek::eek::eek:

Can't comment on the horse as I'm not qualified to say (I bought my horse because he was scruffy and I fell in love), but I'm very tempted to move down to Staffordshire if that's how lorry drivers there treat horse riders! Up where I am they tend to race past, with hissing air brakes and roaring engines :o
