Opinions on this horse.

Well we are on the look out for a project horse,
and we found this on horsequest:

SUPERb young event horse prospect

15.2hh bay Irish TB mare, rising 4 by Tagula

This mare raced as a 2 year old and has been turned away since January this year

She has now started lunging and shows amazing natural balanced paces - Fabulous elevated trot

This mare has a fantastic temperament, not at all spooky

She is handled by my 11 year old daughter and is the sweetest, kindest mare you could wish to find

She has plenty of bone and would make a super teenagers event type or dressage prospect

Good to box, clip and with the farrier

This mare is for sale as we are totally overstocked with show ponies and I do not have the time to do her justice

Must sell due to having no stable for her

£950 as she must be sold

what do you think then? honest opinions, we are only at the browsing stage at the moment.

Looks sweet enough, although her front legs dont look straight. Also, mares can be a little bit mroe difficult to sell on, and how much work would she need to make a decent profit...

She caught our eye too a while back in the ex racers section at 1500, but then noticed shes in the under 1000 section but i dont know how long shes been in that section for!

Is it me or does that white pastern and foot look wrong?

no not just you it is!!hoof looks quite bad actually!!!She looks quite sweet really, still only young and needs to fill into her frame!!I would have a look and asscess that hoof and pastern,if it is not any cause for concern i think she would be a good all rounder!!

Her bum reminds me of my lads and if he is anything to go by she should fill and muscle into it quite nicely with some correct work!!
Certainly wouldnt writ it off!!

Her pastern angles are quite sloping, but lets face it she is priced to sell... im sure with a bit of work and condition on she could turn in to a nice R.C. allrounder.

Given that (if you know the right people) you can get ex racers for free... or a case of beer... I wouldn't touch this one with a barge pole, the legs are all wrong. I wouldn't bet on it staying sound in hard work. Enough goes wrong without starting with the best.

It looks more to me like the whole hoof on near side back has collapsed. That is very worrying when you think of possible pedal bone rotation etc?
