Hi- I am not a newbie- just a current user wanting you to take a look at this pony in a detatched manner- looking at it as it is and not knowing what I want it for. I will reveal all afterwards- be honest but if you would rather do so by PM you are more than welcome.
The stats are: rising 4 Gelding of Show Pony breeding. Registered with many societies.Currently Standing at 14hh.

Look at conformation and potential- I dont want you to know what I want to do with it- I want you to think what it would be useful for.
So here you go

all will be revealed

Fine limbs, deep chest, great shoulders ( look slightly upright at the moment but has growing to do), very short backed. Personally I would suggest the confirmation of a jumper, potentially big ( power pack )? But also could lead to problem in later life? very hard to tell just from a photo alone

IMO he's a lovely shape and makes a nice overall picture. Bit short in the back and a bit upright & the neck is a bit weak (but obviously that would come with work)

Think could make JA?

ETA- That was a huge assumption - would like to see it jump first!

I like it! Am no conformation expert whatsoever but its nice and compact and looks quite powerful. As others have said looks a jumping sort.

If he is rising 4 then he has a lot of growing to do.
I found my youngster gained a lot in the back (dont' ask me why) between 4 and 6 years old, but mine were ID/TB and 17.1 at finished height. A short back means he will be agile to spin and turn sharply.
This pony looks like he is going to make about 14.2-14.3 at most by 6 y.o.
The hollowness I do not feel will be a problem when he starts work, but the upright pasterns may be, as that is not something that changes. He also has quite straight hocks, and long cannon bones and his pelvis is not tilted forward so I would say he would be a better "fast" pony than a "power"pony. He looks pretty light of bone too.
In other words more of a sprinter/eventer/ polo pony type than a jumper, but he may be still good enough at jumping for most young riders as he will be fast and quick on the turns.

He has a lovely head too, so I imagine he would be a good show horse and teenagers all-rounder.
Looks most like a PBA to me.

Nech set on slightly low, head in proportion to body, short backed, good girth room, legs look straight and it has a good slope to it's shoulder.

Conformation may change with age though as he gets older. Short backed ponies are usually fairly strong so this isn't a bad thing ... I think it would make a good showing pony/All round Pony Club pony.

Well done to some of you- who know your breeds well- he is in fact a PBA- a very very well bred PBA. Now how much might one pay for such an animal? He has been long reigned and sat on and led round in full tack nothing more as hes only a baby.
