Opinions on this horse....

My thoughts too, she's not going to look strong in the back either if she's done nothing, I've seen more shoddy weak looking cobs at that age that than turn out to be very nice looking things given time and work, a cob is at his prime when they hit seven, so for four she's ahead of the game a bit. Not the best photo from the side, think it's because she's stood looking alert, I rather like her.

Another way to see it is that we can see her real conformation, and the weak points are not hidden by muscle and work.
But I think too that the photo doesn't deserve her.

She looks quite nice, a strong looking mare. I do prefer even colouring or more dark than white but it would not stop me buying, as said, depends on what you want to do. Certainly may be worth a viewing....

TT I am really sorry to hear that your horse is still missing, I do hope he turns up

Just wanted to add OP, I can see why you like her. I rather like her bay head and tail and the rest all white, she's quite unusual.
I however wouldn't enjoy keeping her clean! After having a grey pony that was outgrown and now my daughters coloured cob, I am grateful that our other 2 are bay with only 1 white sock between the 2 of them :D

All overpriced in today`s prices;and why show off dirty horses? Just an hour or so washing and trimming and they might look nearer to the prices asked. Most of them are a few hundred pounds from Ireland, maybe less,a bit more effort to sell them is sorely needed.

Thanks for all your input. Makes sense why anyone wouldn't want to touch her with a barge pole. I think the dealer's 'previous' just about assures us that this mare may be far from the genuine article. Most suspicious that she wouldn't back her and sell her for more than double - she has the time and the facilities. Still like her face though :( and her stupid thick set neck, and her lack of markings. Poop.

don't go there OP. I know the dealer personally, i know that she sells 4 year olds that have been backed and started jumping, if she has slight problems with them she gets a person i know that is a strict but very good rider to help, 4weeks it would take for a horse with slight problems at her yard, the fact that she is selling unbacked is a huge hint that this horse is not easy at all! i've seen some of the horses she has bought from the market, some would be quite nice, some would be going ape, rearing, bucking etc, within a couple of weeks they'd be up for sale for £2000+ having hunted, jumping big fences and schooling okish so the fact that this one isn't backed and is under £2000 its just a big no. hope you find something just as nice looking :)
