Opinions on this pony please...

Had a quick look, look nice enough and is well priced - but the feet look awful! Probably something that could be remedied though? :)

I think you have to take into context the fact that it is a very cheap pony. So I suspect there will be some "ifs and buts", otherwise it would have a 1 in front of the price of £695. It seems to have a poor back end, with upright hind leg. The front hooves seem very long and sloping, but it's not easy to tell from the photo, I suspect it desperately needs it's feet trimming.

check you can pick those hellishly long feet up and they aren't that long because she won't let them be trimmed!
She looks a sweety, with some hard work and one to one attention I'm sure she will be a fab riding pony. Conformationally I quite like her although she is pretty straight through the hock...nothings perfect though! :)

Her feet were the first thing I noticed too. Also looked quite back at the knee, but this may be because of the feet. Not sure how much of a weight carrier she's be though (my friend probs weighs about 8st) so not sure if she'd be too big?

I don't like the look of the back-end or the hindlegs. But it is cheap, and I don't know what you plan to do with it. I also suspect that it will be extremely green, sounds like it has been backed and not much more.

Thanks for speedy replies :D Will tell her to check on picking feet up etc. But she is going to be a project so stuff like that can always be worked on, especially at that price :D

IMO she would be absolutely fine to carry 8st all day long....once she is muscled up a bit.
The feet are so long I'm sure its affecting how she is standing, my suspicion would be she isnt quite so straight hocked as she appears with feet a mile long either!

Feet are really bad but that can be easily fixed. There must a reason why the price is so cheap but hey even the most expensive horses can have bad bad faults!! I've found the cheaper the horse the more fun you have with it!

It's spotty- buy it buy it buy it buy it!!!! Yes feet are horrific so have a good look at them, check no ridges from lammi too. And a weak back end but obviously needs some work to muscle up, doesn't look like there's that much wrong with it for a kid's/small adult's pony.

hmmm yes and no....I duno

Apps tend to make lovely allrounders, she's a stocky little thing, short coupled, will look a smart looking little pony, however if she is a bit nervous (or just has that kind of temperament anyway) then she may not make a great child’s pony, maybe better suited a to a light weight adult, in which she'll need to bring her on, I'd wonder why they backed her then wanted to cover her, thus thinking cheap for a reason but could be a good project.

Time, patience and lots of work I think and bloody good farrier!

She's a really pretty mare and shouldn't have any problems at all with 8st on her back. Her hooves are a bit on the neglected side but I'm sure she'll come right after a few visits from the Farrier and regular visits thereafter - I took on a 7 year old 16.2 Cob last year that hadn't seen a Farrier in years and her feet are fine now after much patience from our Farriers, good feed and supplements!

She is at a bargain price but that may reflect the fact that she won't make a brood mare (like mine) and let's face it - there are ponies just as lovely as this selling at the markets for £40 or less because of the present financial climant. My daughter would love her and if she were at home more I'd be tempted to buy her myself.

Good luck to your friend and her decision in whether to buy or not. Let us know the outcome.

Always a difficult one and I'm very wary of things like this which are backed and turned away. she has a kind if worried look, horrendous feet as mentioned and a rather upright shoulder/short neck though not too bad. I would go see and make sure you do the following-
* try and pick up all 4 feet
* handle her on your own, lean across her, put a little weight on her and see her reaction. lead her round in hand, walk and trot.

If I personally was going to see her I would prob jump on her bareback with friend holding on to head collar. But then again I'm a bit more gung-ho than a lot of people and will sit on anything. If she passed that test i'd take her home on the spot.

8st would be fine for her to carry no problems.

I've bought some nightmares off people like this and also some really decent ponies. It really depends how much time your willing to put in to sorting her. Presuming her current ownrs are nice to her I would also be cautious of the fact she's nervous, as if thats personality it will make her harder to sell on as a childs pony and she may remain a small adults only ride which knocks a lot off her value.
