Hoping to view this pony this weekend. Please note this is an old ad. The ad I replied to was on Horsemart and expired last night and in that he was advertised for £3500.

http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/marketplace/classified/4-details-horses-for-sale_206002.htm

Seller has only had four calls from the HM ad and only one person has viewed, despite the ad having nearly 1500 views.

He is a reliable, sensible allrounder who is good in all ways and will jump anything upto 3' but does not have the scope for any more. He will suit my current needs perfectly, but I feel that he is not a good quality pony and for that reason feel he is a bit overpriced. What do you guys think?

Looks like a bit of a yanger... Honest but common (not necessarily a bad thing!) and definately overpriced, I'd be inclined to say 2000 for it. Although if it's still advertised for 3500 or 3999 I'd ask if they're flexible before you go.

If hes reliable, safe and straight forward then i dont think £3500 is unreasonable at all. But its a buyers market so always worth making an offer if you like him

Agree! He looks a nice sort and fits what you are looking for. If he lives up to the advert I would not be surprised to see him fetch close to the asking price.

He looks sweet, but is not striking, Nice jump but looks as if he needs work on the flat.

Personally I wouldn't pay over £2500 for him as I've seen alot better out there for that money.

i think £3.5k is an excellent price for a pony which is safe and will jump 3ft courses.

don't really understand the logic about "good quality pony" but i suppose it depends what you are looking for.

you will probably find the "better quality" pony will jump higher and look prettier but may not be so safe and sane.

Ditto. Overpriced. For a 2nd pony that's limited to 3ft jumping...I wouldn't be looking at paying more than £1800-2000 in current market. But that's just myself. If he's your perfect horse then go for it, can't put a price on finding that if you can afford it :)

I'd say around the £2.5K - £3K mark, so not particularly overpriced. If he ticks all the boxes that's a great start! When I bought my pony, I got comments that he was not 'good quality', but now he has come on brilliantly and people seem to have mysteriously changed their mind about him. I think its very difficult to put a price on a nice natured, easy to do, safe and sensible pony.
Good luck :D
