I am looking to breed from my mare in the next year or two and really like the look of this stallion. I wondered if anyone had heard much about him and his offspring or even bred from him.

My mare is a very fine tb, quite typical conformation and could do with a little bit more substance BUT she is also an eventer and I'd hope to event her offspring so I don't want anything too warmbloody. I like fairly short backed horses (like her) but she's a bit lacking in her paces so hoped this guy might introduce a little more flashiness without replacing too much of her tb-ness if that makes any sense.

Temperment wise my mare is a fairly typical tb - she can be sharp but mostly she is quite laid back and is very intelligent and I'd like to keep this if possible (she can be tricky enough when she wants to be!).

Ummm, not too sure what else to say!

I'm far from being an expert on this breed - the closest I've come to a Selle Francais is my poncy dressage type, who is a grandson of the great Quidam deRevel on the sire's side (and the best of Irish on the dam's!)

But I know what I like - and he's a corker. There's nothing about him I don't like - from his stunning head and neck to his powerful hindquarters and well let down hocks! He has plenty of performance credentials and his offspring have performed too!

I've put my java tiger event mare to the same selle francais stallion twice - totally different foals both extremely nice, easy to do but big - plan to take to bramham for the event youngstock classes so that might answer some of your question, I wouldn't hesitate to use one again - especially with a smaller tb type mare, good luck

From what I have seen Tb seem to cross very well with SF. The temperament of selle francais is amazing, but almost too laid back. Therefore a bit of Tb spirit helps.
I put my ISH (7/8th Tb) to a SF stallion called kalaska de semilly 3 years ago. The offspring is beautiful. He is heavier than a true ISH, yet lighter than a true SF- If that makes any sense!?! Basically, exactly what I wanted, more bone than his mother but not as heavy as his father. He moves far better on the flat than most SF (SF are not renowned for their walk or trot) He is still a colt, is incredibly easy to handle yet has some of his mothers 'spark'.
Even if you do not choose Aligator, I would say that you are certainly looking in the right direction.
Good luck.
