He's certainly well bred enough throughout his pedigree although his head is a bit plain in my opinion (quite surprised at that given that Chellano Z's have generally seemed to have inherited his head.
His jumping ability is also obvious. He is a bit long backed and therefore appears a bit weak through his croup for my liking but then again that isn't having any effect on his hock action or indeed his jumping ability.
Are you interested in using him? What is the mare? Would be interested to see some of his foals and what they are turning out like.
I do like him,I have yet to see his foals or any of his offspring , but planning to hopefully some time soon .
Hes only a young stallion ( 8 ) and well my mare is still a baby herself . I want abit of fun with her first, So wouldnt be for awhile yet, But I have been watching this stallion for awhile now, I have met him in the flesh and talked to his rider last year and his now rider which is paul O shea (irish international rider) He has high hopes for him . He has a wonderful temperment, My mare also has a wonderful temperment and is showing a great attitude to work .
He doesn't have the most attractive backside lol
, but he certaintly has power in it somewhere
My mare is showing similiar signs of a weak looking croup but she has shown scope over fences and lovely floating paces .
Missy is an ISH by Rachelle Comet ( tb ) ( missy is 3/4 tb 1/4id )
How old is Missy now? She has a beutiful elegant neck and when she finished growing into herself I think she's going to be lovely. I actually wouldn't say her croup id weak in the way that Camiro's is....hers IMO is just a youngsters developing croup and should be lovely when she finishes growing and strengthening up.
he seem well bred but for me there are better stallions around for the money, he seems nice enough, his front foot turns out to much for me to want to use him but he seems genuine sort. not my type of horse
He's just turned 5, obviously a gelding he is dark bay with no white what so ever, and totally handsome, and he knows it.
I have got some pics which I will try to post on here later, my plans for him is just dressage although I have been told to try and get him out eventing as he is so so bold loves his jumping, but unfortunately these days I don't.
A well known eventer is very keen on him as is my instructer who seems to think we have found something special, but regardless of what others think he's my baby.
He's currently standing about 16.1hh. The only down side to him is his terrible feet!
No hes no real head turner , I don't know I just think there is something I like about him , His jump is definitely something that is making me like him . Missy does indeed have the pretty factor although some may class her as "plain"
But not me
Thanks
Irish_Whiskey Have pmed you
Majority of rachelle comet offspring are eventers, Missy has wonderful paces and is showing scope also, I think thats her destiny too . Although not sure I'm cut out for it, Merlin (only_me) horse is an eventer and doing super at it also .
I wish missy was that height lol , shes 2.6 years old and going on for 16.3hh
I think he is rather nice. I like the way he is put together, especially his front end. (his nearside fore did appear to turn out slightly but that would not put me off, might just be camera angle). As with a lot of show jumping lines, he is not hugely impressive in hand but as soon as he jumps it is a different matter. I loved his action over the jumps.
In my opinion he is slightly expensive for what he has done. I would expect to pay around 800 euros for a stallion with his record.
Sorry he doesn't do it for me either, in hand he looks really tight in his trot through the shoulders. In fact he has no trot, every time he was asked to open the trot a bit, he couldn't and jumped into canter.
I too think he is expensive for what he is/has done
, plus he is a showjumping stallion .
I've watched this handler before and to be honest he never shows the horse off well . So perhaps that is something to do with it . Also ....
I would like to think Missy would carry through her paces to the foal but I know its never going to be in writing so to speak .
His trot is nothing special I know but like I said its the jumping ability I am looking for .
I've seen far worse moving stallions to be fair .
I want a good showjumping stallion, Something that is obviously going to be around in the next few years as missy is still only a baby and I want to have abit of fun with her first . I am in n.ireland and the stallion has to be quite local ie ireland or n.ireland .
So for those that have said they have seen a better stallion can you let me know who they are and I'll have a look
He doesn't looks right at the front somehow, but it could be the way he is being shown. He is quite powerful behind tho'.
I also think the stud fee is pretty stiff, as he hasn't done much to justify it.
I would definately look at Luidam as an alternative.
I think your mare looks very nice.
lissava stud have a nice choice of stallion, all look very impressive, also drumadarragh stud have a choice from international grade a to youngsters starting from £250 to£450 thats just a handfull, also cavalier royal his fee is around £800
Have to say I just wasn't impressed at all, looks like a n average horse to me( a nice one, sure) but the jump wasn't wowing me either, or anything really about him.
But then I liked Arko's jump when I saw him recently
Ooh - I hadn't realised that that was where Sylvano had gone.
What about A.Quidam.M standing at Highland View Lodge (www.highlandviewlodge.com)... He is by Quidam de Revel and out of a mare called Minook, who is the full sister to Cheenook who was the sire of Caretino Glory, amongst others. He's a stunning young boy and should soon be based in Ireland (Was in Europe this year). He is definitely on our 'to consider' list and we'll be keeping a close eye on his progress...which could well be the same for you as you aren't looking to breed for a few years anyway....
