This is one of our 5 year olds. He is 14.2 and a fell x appoloosa. He has the most incredible jump. He will never stop, will jump 1m 20 easily. He is so bouncy it is hard to stay in the saddle, you have to stand in your stirrups. What can we do with him? He hunts, albeit 'enthusiastically' but without incident. He just does not do standing still very well. He will however, jump ANYTHING, 5 bar gates, ditches, water etc. We need to sell him but how do we go about it? He is dead on 14.2hh as far as we can tell. A difficult size really as until he is officially "heighted" we do not have an accurate height. He rides like a pony and is short and close coupled. Advice please. Here he is by the way...

you could sell him as either a pc pony (lots are wanted around this heoght, especially for the competitive 13 year old) or as a child bsja pony.
You could try and take him affiliated sj and get some money on his card, you could then get in with the "crowd" or so to speak and find someone interested that way, or advertise him on pc website or bs website.

he is lovely with a fantastic jump :)

Yes but surely getting some money on his card would need a jockey? We are not bsja registered. We need a jockey who wants to get on. I would be happy to register him (all costs etc) but need a youngster who is capeable enough to ride him to his full potential. This is I feel, a seriously talented pony, another "stroller"! My plans are to get him around the unafilliated circuit and see what response we get.

What a super pony, right up my street! If he was mine i'd have a chat with a few affiliated kids (around 13/14yrs) and try and get a jockey for him to start bn which he looks like he'll breeze. If he's quite buzzy he should do well and you could sell him as a sj pony predominantly, with pot to event/wh possibley with some more experience. Lovely pony though x
