opinions please on lump on leg...

sorry i know this should be in vet room but theres loads more people in here...

any way went to pick out neddys feet and my hand was covered in blood. there was alump on the inside of his front leg on his tendons, no heat or swelling and ok with me touching it, i cleaned it which wasnt too happy about there didnt seem to be a gash just a lump.

my first thought was that it was an old problem flaring up again but now thinking about it im not sure it its actually the same leg.

what do u think it could be??

Hmmm, he still could have just brushed himself (Im going for the optimistic approach) TBH I have no idea what I am talking about really, just the first thing I thought of. I would presume the lump is related to the cut opposed to a greater problem though!
 
Hi, the blood obviously came from some sort of opening in the skin, and it could`ve come from somewhere else. Make sure you check all the leg tomorrow from top to bottom as there could`ve been a nick somewhere. Is the lump hard or soft?
Sometimes it is hard to spot small cuts and nicks because of all the hair so gently rub your hands over his legs to see if you can feel and unusual bits. Sorry if I have misunderstood as I am presuming from your post that you didn`t find any cuts.

My young horse did this by catching himself and ended up with a large splint. I was gutted but over the next 18 months it has really come down in size. My boy was young and very playful so I put boots on him for turnout for a while.
 
the lump felt hard when i was cleaning it, and i wiped over the whole of the area to see if the blood was coming from anywhere else but it seemed to be just coming from the lump, no missing hair from what i could see in poor lighting. going back in the morning to check it.
