This is for those that have followed my search the 'big lad'...who I am quite fond of already after only 1 visit...and didn't ride him just something about him that has me hook line and sinker really...

I would be interested in doing Show Hunter and Working Hunter classes at local level and general fun rides, schooling hacking out etc...

I would like some opinions on him please, I know I have said I am having my friends boy but for some reason I cannot get this one out of my head...and I could buy this guy and friend won't sell her boy :(

aww thanks guys....I haven't even ridden the boy yet I just kinda fell in love with him soon as we pulled up and he turned around to see who it was and that was it for me...lol....
he's a big lad though and still has to do some growing...yikes!...16.3hh now!!!! ARGHHH lol

do you think he will make a good show/working hunter type...I 1st saw pics of him hogged and clipped out and thought wow yes!...and ever since then i've been in love lol....

must be fate...

or friends lad who is equally as nice too....but more mature at 12 done affliated dressage with his previous owner...

Go with your heart.
I just went out buying. Went with the intention of an 8-12yo competition schoolmaster, came back with a rising 5yo! As soon as I saw the 5yo I knew I had to have him.

I'm quite astounded at how many of you like him?...
I think if I am honest I will be going for him he's just my type but don't like letting my friend down, but she has also had quite alot of interest in her lad too...

the top ones show him in better showingcondition, which is what your aiming for. I'd ride him and see how you go. And check he has a passport, anyone tht buys a horse without a passport, in my eyes, is silly. x

And what were you saying about not finding something lol, horses are like buses none come along for ages then you get two!!

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Wow, don't normally go for the hogged mane but really suits him and he looks very handsome.

Agree with others, go and ride him then make your mind up. If it was my situation, I would just be upfront with your friend so they don't get a shock later. If she's a friend she'll understand.

Good luck!

I would try to ride him a couple of times in different situations before you decide. You were looking for something sensible and safe weren't you? Just make extra sure he is these things because he's still quite young. (unless i got that wrong in which case sorry!)

He is stunning though.

Love the 5 year old, looks great hogged. I think he would certainly hold his own in Working Hunter classes or you could go for Maxi Cob if he has enough bone.

If it is loan with a view to buy I would go for it, if it doesn't work out you haven't lost anything only gained experience.

Good luck!

likey likey. would like to see ridden pic with saddle a bit further back though, just a thought but would show off his lovely front to full advantage. Good luck with him when he comes home :D

I like the first one. Nice kind eye and good size ears!!

If he sticks in your mind, and he ticks the boxes, and you cant explain why you like him, he is probably the right one. As long as he is what you want, and safe or at least you can work around any probs then go for it. Both of mine bought on gut instinct and I haven't regretted it for a minute.

Good luck! :D
