Opinions please - please be critical

She does look lovely, But half broken could be completely messed up! Give the owner the benefit of the doubt though, certainly worth a look - she's a real eyecatcher!

The only thing that would put me off would be the fact she has been half broken but she does look nice would proberbly be worth a look

Not so bothered about the broken bit, she will be on full production. I just need to see whether she will be big enough for small hunter i'm rubbish at stuff like that apart from sec d's i know nothing

She looks nice in that pic but the feathers are throwing my eye!

Be nice to see her stood up. Also Welsh D x Trakehner, IMO would probably be a bit of a handful. Thats just based on the ones I have met though so may be a huge generalisation!

On a different note, did you get your young mare put in foal?

she is beautiful!

Not sure about a small hunter! but a nice riding horse/hack....... Depends if she grows any more......

however she def looks worth a nosey!

I'd go see for your self. Pictures can be deceiving! From different angles and different light she may look bigger or smaller. Better off going to see her if you're interested. She looks lovely though x

No i sold her in the end to a lovely lady who lives not far, apparently she is coming on a treat but it has taken time as i told her it would - main thing is she loves her to bits.
The feather would definately have to come off, the other thing would be if she has knee action she is no good. Thought i'd get some advice before phoning, she looks quite heavy but i just cant tell from the picture.

i've called she has floaty paces, plenty of bone, another thing that has come to light her dad is 16.3 trakehner her mum 15.2 welsh. This little lady is going to keep growing isnt she?????

I have just been doing some investigating and am now more confused I just found this write up for hunters in the showring!
I now dont thnik she will be any good thinking she wont quite fit into any category

Hunters are divided into four sections - small, lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight. Small hunters are up to 15.2hh, and based on a middleweight horse scaled down, so not too fine. Lightweight hunters are usually thoroughbred or similar, about 16hh - 16.2hh, and should have about eight and a half inches of bone. Middleweight hunters are bigger - up to 16.3hh and up to nine inches of bone. Heavyweight hunters are often not much taller, but have up to ten inches of bone. The heavyweight hunter needs substance enough to carry fourteen stone for a day's hunting. While bigger and heavier than the TB types in the LW classes, they should still have quality and not be coarse.

Well this mare is 15.2hh currently, and she should grow a bit more. and (as I said before) if she doesnt make hunter stamp, she would probably be good for a riding horse class? although she may then be a little too chunky.......... hm..... not really sure!

Exactly, I think i'm going to go see her in the flesh this weekend. Do you know what you do to see how big a horse will be at maturity?? I tihnk if she would measure as 15.2 next spring she'd be fine for the season next year at least as a small hunter

Ye, if she stays the size she is, she might be ok (but make sure you check her bone size to see!)

Id maybe PM FMM with the link attached and ask her opinion as she does hunter classes so will have a better idea!

I dont know what to think about how to judge how high she might become, check when seeing her in the flesh to see if she is slightly butt high, or high withered as that might indicate a bit more growing!

My friend is selling a beautiful 6yo lightweight cob, easily county standard. When a very experienced showing lady came to see him she brought a measuring stick and found that he is 15.2, and not 15.1 as stated on the passport. She said that he was ideal as a small ridden hunter, as they should be as spot on 15.2 as possible, and I think should have 8.5 inches of bone, which he has. She didnt buy him as he appears to be an inch too tall for a cob, but she did say he would be really good as a small ridden hunter. I must say I havent a clue if all this is correct, its just what she said, so I thought I would pass it on in case its of any help.

Thanks guys, I have to say I was ompletely off the mark if i should be looking for a show cob at 15.2 to be a hunter??? I was thinking a show hunter with a little more depth at 15.2h
OMG i think i should watch the hunter classes at the shows n find out exactly what one should look like
