Have had my mare Dolly for nearly 5 years now. In all the time that I have had her, she has had a pulled mane and clipped legs. (Legs were originally clipped beause of various skin problems that I have under control now). I am now seriously thinking about letting the feathers grow back (Providing skin probs don't flare up again), and letting her mane grow.

Shall I try and let her go natural, or keep her clipped?

i would only let her go natural if you have coloured classes in mind - keeping her clipped is proably what has helped you to keep on top of those skin problems, and they would be much harder to prevent when she is hairy
 
Try, you can alway take it off if you don't like them. I let my mares (piebald cob) feathers start to grow back, but her mallenanders flared, and weren't responding to treatment as couldn't get ointments right down to them with all the fluff, so she is now hair less again.
 
My husband bought a chocolate dun Shire/ID a few years ago who came with a beard, massive feathers and a crazy mane which came right down his neck. We totally clipped him out, hogged him and pulled his tail and he looked ace - much younger and smarter.

let her grow out, giver her hair a chance to impress !!! you can always take it all off again,

My lad is fully feathered and leg haired, you lose your hand in it!! mane is pretty long too and forelock
