What would you do if, while on a Riding Club ride, advertised as suitable for lead rein riders, your pony kicked the ride leader on the leg, while she was mounted and ensuring that the ride crossed the road back to the finishing point safely, this is after your pony has trampled a lead rein pony on the ride. Would you:-

A) Ride off as fast as possible, while being heard to blame the ride leader for being in the way?

B) Apologise profusely and ask if the rider needs any help

C) Send your Dad, who is with you, to do B)

D) other, please state which

Thankies :)

probably both B and C!!! I would be mortified myself but assuming the dad was on the floor I would ask him to assertain if he could be of more use than me sat on my horse, but I would still apologise profusely and offer my help too!

Did A happen to you by any chance?

ETS I would also have been positively mortified my horse had trampled a lead rein pony earlier in the ride lol

Yes indeed it did! Have spent the afternoon in A&E, fortunately not broken, but very badly bruised. Not to mention steamingly mad at said child!

D) Other.........
Apologise profusely, but get my pony out of the way before it did any more damage, and ask from a safe distance if I needed to call for help.......... though, tbh, I'd likely have done that after trampling the lead rein pony........

Quite, rather than blythly carrying on regardless, I still can't quite believe it, particularly no response from father! I think they have the idea that the people who organise the RC activities are like a riding school without the horses (if that makes sense) and so are there to look after the little darlings and take whatever flack there is! No idea of personal responsibility, and yet I thought that keeping horses helped children to learn this.......
Oh well

Apparently the girl was crying at the trailer, but not much use to me, or the lead rein child! Fortunatelky my sister was there, led my mare home, while I VERY gingerly drove her car home! Would have been a bit beggard if we had been more than the 1/4 of the mile away from home that we were. Girl and father had no idea how near or far we were from home.

Horrible brat does not deserve to have pony! Terrible father should not have been allowed to have children.... Reaffirms what I've thought for a long time- there should be a test before people are allowed to have children!

Hope your leg is OK?
