I haven't posted in here for awhile but i have a friend who started riding earlier this year. She is now looking for her first horse and has the full support of her riding instructor and yard behind her.

Unfortunately, because we live in a remote part of the UK, the options for viewing and trying horses for sale are fairly limited, she is browsing on line at adverts and is fully aware of the pitfalls/ dealers to avoid and what to look out for, as well as what to ask the vendor.
Any potential horse will be tried in person and vetted.
She asked if I would post this link for a horse she has seen on line on here for some of the famous HHO opinions and advice.

So please, have a look and tell me what you all think. Thanks muchly :)

Thanks for all the responses. My query ws that he sounds cheap for the description but I'v e told her that I think he's worth a look.

She would be getting him vetted if she chose to proceed and we will come up with a long list of questions to ask!

Thanks again x

I would want to buy from a private home and not a dealer.

Go for a 5 star vetting and ask to have him on trial (horse not the rider!) for a month.

I would also get a more experienced person to ride him as well, see what he is like on his own in the school environment and also hacking out alone.

Sounds a lovely horse but just be very aware of the potential pitfalls.

Also ask around quietly in the area about the horse!

it says he is well schooled but he is not in a correct outline in any of the pics, I think it would depend if you want something that IS well school or a safe horse that goes round with his head in the air.

He looks sweet enough from the pictures, but for a horse that has 'been there, done that' I would expect to see pictures taken at shows/other places as those photos have obviously all been taken on the same day. It would have been nice to see a jumping picture too!

I agree he is cheap but I know of a lot of horses that have been around that amount and ended up being great horses! Definitely have a 5 stage vetting if your friend goes ahead.
