I went to view a youngster on Thursday and would like your opinions on conformation etc. He has just turned two and has minimal handling. He was very friendly and when caught let me touch him all around his head and along his body . He is a welsh x i think he is going to be a real chunk.Here are some pictures....

Thank you Faracat i know he wouldn't stand still so i know they are not the best photos he is really well grown . He only turned 2 in april. I would love to know how much you all think he is worth too.
 
He doesn't look straight in.his front legs? Although it could the way he is standing in the photo! He looks a lovely type and looks like a kind person!x
 
From hocks up - nice looking horse, possibly a little straight in shoulder. Hocks down, from the pictures look to be a bit tied in behind the 'knee' on the front and leg behind the vertical, bit too upright on the front pasterns, and a bit too dropped on hinds.

However, looking good for a just turned 2 - should stand you in good stead for showing next year if thats what you want to do :)

Possibly the funny angle that he's standing at?

If he is wonky on the near fore then JJ would have picked that up at the viewing.

RE price.
Youngstock is still selling slowly at the moment unless it is tip top quality. There are alot of Welsh and Welsh x's for sale in my area and they seem to vary in price from £100 (colt foal) - £1800 (nice three year old filly/gelding ready to be backed).
 
I can assure you that he isn't wonky in the legs it is just the picture. He was in with his brother and they were enjoying having a play so i just snapped away while he was still moving around. He is well under £1000 . I am glad you all like him. I am not sure what i would like to do with him yet a bit of everything I think

You know a lot more than me about conformation. In general he is a nice horse though ? For low level showing and a bit of everything else?
 
Looks a nice sort. I like him.
Definitely up to low level showing. Should make a nice hack and riding club type.
ETA if I was looking for another [ which I am not ; I already have 2 x 2yr olds] I'd be very interested in him indeed.
I'd pay up to £1500 too.

I really cannot find anything to fault. He's well let down; strong looking loins; well sprung ribs;joints large enough;looks to have enough bone;decent length of neck;good size head not too big;decent length of rein; decent wither. He perhaps could do with a little more slope on the shoulder but he's not "upright". I really do like him. Should make a lovely riding horse/lovely hunter IMO.
 
He is possibly a smidge back at the knee, but again it's hard to be sure without a proper side-on photo.

ETA. Well under £1k seems a very good price. :)
