How do you think Chance looks in these pictures?

I know he is lacking in muscle and condition - he had had 8 weeks off, then when we were getting somewhere I was signed off work/riding for 4 weeks (from June 30th) after an op and still can't do to much so he is in light work, although he is now on part loan so will be getting fitter etc.

I have just posted them somewhere else and had this comment:

Hi.....do not wish to upset you...but feel your boy is lacking in condition...no muscle tone along his back and hindquarters. Is he old??

He actually looks wormy....have you wormed him recently and does he have access to good grazing??

He is 15 so a relatively young horse but has the look of a much older horse.

Looks fine to me, especially given the fact he's not in work.

Yes, he's lacking muscle - of course he will be, he's only just coming back into work! And he does have a bit of a belly - because he's been pigging out on grass

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. He doesn't look wormy to me and he doesn't look 15, let alone older.

I don't think he looks ribby at all. Obviously can't tell from pics, but he looks fine. You can *just* make out his ribs on the top pic, but he also looks wet which makes the ribs more obvious anyway.

Pah, don't worry about it. He looks fine, ignore them. Which forum is it btw?

He looks in nice condition apart from the saddle area. I've come across a few horses who have an imprint of their saddle in their backs despite being 'professionally fitted' etc. It might be useful for you to have a look at Balance International or Heather Moffett saddles. Or it might just be the angle of the camera (it's not so obvious in the first picture)...

It was on Arabian Lines.

He had just been ridden - I can't make out the imprint of the saddle only the saddlecloth pattern on him as he was sweaty
