I LOVE mine sooooo much! I've had 2 years now, love it in everyway I was very annoyed when my cob outgrew it, but fits my WB perfectly. Oh except if you get the 'brown' it's a bit burgandy at first
I had a Bates Caprilli. I think you can get a better saddle for your money tbh. When we took it apart to change the gullet we were horrified at how shoved together it was.
Mine is withn a saddler at the moment who is trying to sell it for me, but no luck!
Hmm... I don't have a Caprilli, but a Bates Momentum and I love it - really comfortable and fits my mare like a dream, plus keeps me v secure over bigger jumps & out hunting.
Yep she's currently in a Barnsby at the mo but it's my friends,i've got a Wintec Wide for hacking but the Barnsby has better knee rolls for in the school (my mare can be v.sharp in confined spaces)
Really like it as it's comfy and fits my mare a treat. Will def keep an eye out for a 2nd hand one, no point me buying new as she's a 4 yr old warmblood!
I had one. It was okay but a rather cheaply / poorly made in my opinion. We bought it becuase we wanted it to fit several horses. Although you could change the fitting, the pannels which run down the side of the spine didn't touch the horses back unless you were sitting in it!
Personally, I think you're better off to buy a good quality new or second hand saddle!
are you against close contact? The caprilli CC jump is fab, i have one as does my YO who swears by them. They are well made and very comfy to ride in. howvere you may want to use a prolite if you are doing longer hacks etc.

Are you talking about the Bates? I usually use Black Country's but my mare has gone from a xx wide- a wide in less than 4 mths! She's lost a bit of puppy fat and toned up nicely but being a warmblood theres no point in me going out and buying a brand new leather saddle thats £950,i learnt that lesson with my last youngster! I'm going to get an older Cliff Barnsby,Albion ....something along those lines.
I've had the Bates Caprilli GP and it was a great saddle. With changes of gullet it was a good fit on a 16hh middle weight British WBx, a 15.2hh cob and a 16.3hh hunter! However, the last one, my mare has a big shoulder movement and it restricted her a bit, so I now have the Bates Capprili VSD and its great
