pointless post really but i keep seeing posts about everyones horse being wound up by the spring grass. but my mare has been the complete opposite! i didnt ride for about 10 or 11 days for a variety of reasons (she is on loan and i think he owner may have ridden once or twice) but this coupled with the rich grass would hake you think she would be wild! but the last 3 days i have ridden and she has been positively docile! which for her is shocking on any day! as she is a very, lets say, excitable pony! i hope these links work but this is us in a normal jumping lesson

she has been so calm i actually worried something may be wrong with her! but after trotting her up (and her showing some of her usual self) we put it down to my superior (HA) horsemanship ;) but what i was particularly happy with was our lesson today! we had a calm trot, all long and low, and then what made my day was the fact that we did poles and and a jump in trot (before and after!)
this may not sound like much but for her it was amazing!!

sorry for the long post i was just so happy with our lesson! :D i just wish we had gotten a video! :D

I think there is a lack of spring grass at the moment.
Your yard may be different.
But all mine are coming in hungry.
Yesterday I had to persuade wizz to get up for our lesson and he was so quiet and laid back I got to practice trot, canter and key yielding with no stirrups!

Normaly in his hyper state id be out the side door!

It may just be your great riding is helping her improve and you have a better understanding of each other.
