As above really.

I am quite worried about leaving mine :O( He is new to me and has trust issues. Hes really starting to come round to me now, but he is still funny with other people.

Any suggestions? Just get the friend who is looking after him to leave him be and just check him, or ask her to continue doing what I have been doing?

Not sure what to do for the best? x

P.S. No idea what happened with the title!!!!!
 
Personally, I just put my boy on full livery with my yard manager.

In your situation, I would try to work with whoever is looking after them in your absence now, so they both have a chance to get used to each other under your supervision.
 
Erm... I generally don't go on holiday but the odd couple if days I might go away, my neighbours check on them for me and I repay the favour if they go away
 
Sometimes family and sometimes a neighbour. TBH it is an issue and we don't go on holiday very much. I feel it's a lot to ask someone unless you can reciprocate especially in winter which is when i like to get away. I think giving up holidays is one of the sacrifices horse ownership brings unless you are very lucky. If they are on livery I guess it is easier but we have them at home.
 
I would ask a professional. I once asked a "friend" and came home to find my horse was shut in his stable for 2days with no hay and water, she then chucked him out in the field and he injured himself and she didn't notice/check, so ended up having a 7 inch (diameter) hole in his chest which required stitches - not what you want to come home to after a holiday!
 
Ask someone who you trust.

I have had Ruby over a year now, I have had 3 holidays in that time (lucky I know!) The first 2 times my close friend and old YO looked after her. I would look after hers in return. I completly trusted her, we used same dentist,farrier,vet etc so she had all the info she needed. I also left my tack and told her to ride if she wanted too.

The last time I asked my fellow liveries to keep an eye. I got to know 2 of them before I left on hols and they did a great job looking after her. Especially since my mare cut herself (typical) but couldn't have dealt with the injury any better then they could. I left a contact sheet of numbers in case though (Farrier,Dentist, vet, old YO as she knows Ruby very well etc.)
 
I am away at Blenheim next week all mine going on full livery with yard owner I also do this when competing away which ever horse is at home goes on full livery x
