These are made for dog clipping, but has anybody got this model, and would it be capable of a one off bib clip on a pony?

Yes I've used them when the battery ran out on my Moser Avalons. Very capable of a bib depending on what blade you are using - I was using a wide #10. But have also used the smaller # 7 and #8. They take a bit longer but good finish and very quiet for nervous horses. Good luck

Thankyou that's a very positive response!! I have been doing some research, and the A5's are compatible to take other 'horse' clipper blades in the wide size. They do have a reputation in the dog grooming world for running a bit hot, so will have to take it slowly and give clippers rests to cool down.
