Thats my attempt at a Baydale Style report and I think Ill leave it up to her in future after all shes the professional!
Well we headed off to Aintree again for the OTECC finals and once again found a lovely stable waiting for us (sadly not one thats held a grand national winner this time
)
All I can say is that we must be mad sleeping in the Box in December
definitely the coldest night weve stayed in it so shouldnt have been surprised to see Aintree covered in a winter blanket of frost very pretty but proved to be rather difficult to lead the beast down to the equestrian centre from the stables on the rubber matting she also decided that wheelie bins are horse-eating monsters which provided me with some ice skating moves that Torvill and Dean would have been proud of!
Did the joker for the 1st championship class to let the beast have a look around decided that we would have a nice canter round and act like grown ups rather than challenge the 128 ponies that can turn on a six pence
Went into the championship class and she jumped very well until I got a bit carried away and forgot to sit up after an XC style fence so ended up too flat for the next rather annoyed as only 8 clears in the class so probably would have had a good chance as seemed like a nice pace see video below

Did the joker for the second championship class and this time the inner competitor got the better of me
The phrase if you cant beat them join them comes to mind .
Sadly it turns out the beast really isnt a 128
so although we had a go at some good turns and a line (jumping to fences on different angles: fence 1 backwards towards the OTECC filler) it still turned into a bit of a demolishion job see video

But somehow we managed to get 8th so got a rossie
she even stood to get it put on heres the photo to prove it
Came out and discovered the beastie had found her talent again (obviously in training ready for Britians Got Talents Auditions which start soon
) of pulling her shoe off
Thought shed be ok doing the championship class with it being on a surface
Really though should have stopped then as the class didnt go to plan The course was the same as the previous class so she turned into a diva pulling me around seems she now knew her way so ended with 2 down
Really the fences are too small for her but we just label the whole experience as a bit of fun
Took her back to the box and she being a typical mare mum my legs going to fall off
due to her low heels and with it being winter theyve not been protected so she got some lovely padding and vet wrap to travel home in
Got home and amazingly the pain had nearly all gone so much so that she decided to leap off the lorrys ramp and land on my foot!!
Hopefully its just bruising but I refuse to go to hospital for a number of reasons mainly due to the fact im seeing the orthopaedic consultant on Thursday so might just let him view both feet and knees
So both me and the beastie are on the temporary HHOer broken list
Also lovely to meet Aregona who did an amazing job despite the issues before hand and I think your little mare was a super star hopefully well cross paths in the eventing season and joke on about the fun we had in the warm-up
And finally the pics we got: - Please excuse my position in particular my legs and feet I am working on them but they do enjoy swinging backwards and calling cabs!
