OH uses a breed specific forum to chat about B and generally educate himself more on dogs and Borders in general.

He just came downstairs in a right paddy and announced he will be booted off it now because he has dared to disagree with the mod:o:rolleyes:

So can anyone recommend some nice friendly forums for him to show off his beloved little dog? He is not allowed to come on here:cool:

Also... The mod has taken the huff with OH because we had B spayed. She said that if you want to spay your bitch then you shouldnt have got one in the first place:eek::o Please tell me I am not living in some parallel universe and that we have done the right thing?

Sorry for the spelling... its late and I have given up trying to correct it!

Wow they sound like right idiots, they obviously think that everyone should breed, quite frightening really that a mod shoud think that way.

Im on a Lancashire Heeler forum and even though the LH is on the KC vunerable list they are quite happy for people to neuter or spay their dog.

I also lurk on a US Dobe site where neutering and spaying is actively encouraged as is breed rescue.

Both my Dobes are rescue and Darcy came spayed and it wasnt stipulated that I neuter Diesel but I did it anyway, I see it as responsible ownership. Our LH bitch puppy has just had her first season and we dont know yet whether we will breed her but that will depend on her show career. If she isnt successful we will have her spayed.

I would find another forum for your OH if he wants a quiter life or stay and try and educate the other forum users and just remind them how many dogs are being put down every day and how rescues are bursting at the seams with discarded dogs.

I happen to think you have done the right thing for your girl and have been responsible.

Tell him he's right, the mods a moron and all of AAD say so, he can go tell the mod to stick that in his pipe and smoke it. As for other Border forums, I dont know of any but there must be some!! Try facebook groups, often breed clubs have facebook groups/pages now that act a bit like a forum with people asking advice and bouncing ideas, sharing pics etc etc.

Just because they moderate a forum doesn't mean they are right. In fact if I was him I wouldn't bother going on there any more. spaying is the best thing you can do for bitches.

Haven't found another nice doggie forum. If anyone knows any?

Haha it is a closed forum so no fun can be had with it! I'm guessing that's so the mod can limit the amount of people on there that think she is a tit.
No need for the forum to be breed specific at all, he really will talk to anyone :o

Sorry for typos etc, I'm on my phone x

Hey, lml! :D:D

Can I ask a really cheeky question? Why is your OH not allowed in here?! Have you banned him, or am I right out of order for asking - sorry, if that's the case! ;):D

Off topic, I know, but Bear sends Princess B greetings from Europe! *waves* :D

PDB is hilarious but I have just checked and there is only one person who ever posts in the Border Terrier section.

In my own breed, current hot topics include 'women handlers are destroying the breed' and 'how to I import semed into Australia' :p :p :p
Oh and someone in England has posted a pic of their dog doing bitework, on himself, with no sleeve. Riiiggghhhttt.....

CT on here seems to be addicted to Petforums? There is also Dogsey which has a huge following, or Champdogs.

Heyloo :)

HHO is 'my' little place, he gets that :) I dont really want him to stumble onto me whinging about him in public:eek::p

He does browse AAD to see pictures and read 'debates' :)

I have suggested the other forums to him but he is currently still thrashing it out with this mod / admin crazy.

Its border terrier world for anyone interested :p

Yayyy bear :) I think we need some recent pics of him? B is feeling very very sorry for herself at the moment and is jumping / climbing anything I use to block off the stairs / sofa etc so no doubt we will have some stitches popping out sometime soon:rolleyes::mad:

Surely their job is to moderate debates not bash everyone who has a differing opinion. Its none of their business and if you've no breeding intentions spaying does seem a sensible option, i've rescues so they've all come to me spayed/neutered.

There maybe other breed forums or perhaps general terrier ones. i found some of my own breed forums just by googling and having a nosey to see if they were my cup of tea.
I like Petforums has a good mix of views and breeds which makes things interesting. Dogsey is ok too, i feel it has too many sections and is a bit stricter, which can be annoying when you want to link something.

Of course you have done the right thing, seems a daft attitude from the mod of the forum, they should be applauding your OH for being a responsible owner. I am on the same LH forum as dobiegirl and was a little wary of confessing that Pickle was being castrated as there are not many of them about, but nobody had a go, and even encouraged us to show him even tho he no longer has his bits.

LMAO @ their rules!!

And off topic again (sorry!:o), there will be 2nd birthday post, complete with pics, from Bear in the next week or two - that is, if I remember to charge my camera and get some up to date pics of the little blighter!:D

OMG she is a psycho head control freak!!

FULL ACCESS* All MEMBERS-WELCOME And All Must READ!
Welcome to Border Terrier World

If you wish to read all the folders on BTW then you need to be a participating member.

I have made a certain number of folders private, if you want the benefits of BTW then you must participate on the board!

The purpose of this forum is to create friendships and build a community

friendships cannot be created without 'some' type of conversation among your fellow peers.

3/5 postings a month is really nothing!

It is a small request. We all want to know you!

This isn't just a place to come and grab info and leave

This isn't a forum to copy links to share on YOUR forums

This is a forum with REAL friends, real love of the breed, and real care! Thats my intention,

and if barring some out of the main area can enforce that idea then thats what has to be done.

I realise its strange on a new forum at first for new members, but from now on all members new & old have to participate.

New members will be given just one week to make an initial post
Then sadly if you do not make a post, you will be removed from the membership list.

You cannOt use BTW to just read, you must join in.

This first week gives you time to read, have a look around, get used to the board and to introduce yourself!

After one week, if you have not made an initial first post then sorry ,you will be deleted from the membership. :-(

Making an initial post is easy.

Until you make a minimum of 3 posts, you will have very limited access on the board.

currect folder you will have access to make those first posts are.

Welcome Mat
New Member Questions

Show off your puppy

Once you have made three posts you can apply to join:

The FULL ACCESS This gives to access to all folders
Once you are used to the board you will, its hoped make more posts, and from now on a minimum requirement of 5 unique posts per month is required,

This isnt a website!
Its a private run member forum so you need to join in to retain access

So if you are barred, create your new 3 postings-re apply

The forums rules, they have been in place for years, you all see them when you join.

You really knew what you were getting into, I don't want to have a 'regular' forum where one doesnt know the other and we just move about like ants in the ant farm. Sorry but this is all my choice
please understand and comply, or ask to be removed.

if you don't have the time for 3 postings then we can't hold you here.

I will in future be checking the memberlist every month and non posters will be removed from the full access group until they begin to post again.

Su :flower:

Oh yeah... full on psyco.
She won't have people discussing breeding but then slates you for neutering?? Off. Her. Head.

She makes AAD look like the most friendly place on the net :p

Nativespeaker - I am a bad bad mummy and missed Bs 2nd birthday post (It was on the tenth!!. I'm getting married in July so my whole world has gone a wee bit crazy :o I will try to make one tonight :)

If you want a nice friendly dog forum, try Dogpages.org.uk. It's not breed specific, but welcomes lots of different people to talk about their dogs. The dogs even have their own thread with "no hoomans"!

Cripes, that mod sounds a bit like she inhales too many dog hairs! Talk about 'it's my forum and i'll do what i want to'! Maybe your OH should set up his own discussion forum, lure her in then ban her :p

HAHA oh god the thought of it sends shivers down my spine. It would be the most disorganised forum in the world and then I would end up running the bl**dy thing!

I do love my OH but his organisation skills and his ability to follow things through are basically none existant :o:p

Addicted?! Makes me sound a bit mental :p

It's useful for anything not on here and vice versa. Definitely on here more. It did get me into raw and then I got the raw thead on here stickied, but I would send anyone to either, no preference. The overlap is forever growing, takes me ages to wiork out who is who as other people seem to choose different forum names but if I did, I'd probably have an identity crisis. :p :D
