Is it just me that get emotional about my friends horses?
A good friend of mine is thinking of selling/loaning her horse and it has really upset me! Im trying to think if i could have him but i cant really afford it.
Does anyone else get like this or just me?

I have in the past, only when I worked at the riding school beacuse I wonder if they will be cared for properly or miss the people around them ect ect.

I was devestated when my best friend's pony had to be PTS when we were kids... I didn't have my own pony so she used to let me play with hers, and I was always hanging around grooming him and cuddling him. He was laminitic, and despite my friend's mum's best efforts it eventually progressed to Cushing's disease and the vet decided it was best to PTS.

I know what you mean. One of the horses at my yard is for sale and I will really miss him when he's gone. Was tempted to make an offer myself but I already have two so can't really afford a third!

I ride a few of my friend's horses and I have a great deal of affection for all of them

I ride a lovely old chap, Punch who is 30 and starting to feel his age, then a little mare called Megan, who is still full of life at 17ish and finally a lovely little mare called Lilly, (you know who you are, if you read this

) who I have had the pleassure to ride, since she was a 3 year old .... ALL of which I would be absolutely devastated if anything happened to them and would reduce me to tears

yes! a beautiful horse just left our yard I loved him and really miss him, I know he could never be mine but i rode and looked after him lots and he was kind of like mine, its horrible with out him!

one of my very close friends got upset when i told her i was going to loan my mare out and even offered to pay £100 a month towards her keep ( i refused to take her money when she can't get any enjoyment out of her) when she told me she might be selling her mare i was sad for her as she has had her since a 2 yr old but i can see why she is doing it. i try not to emotional attached to other peoples horses as i find my own hard enough. the amount of times they have had me in tears i could have a lake by now lol

Not usually, but my share owner has several arabs as well as him, and i'm so in love with one of her brood mares who is for sale. But i think that's different because i handle her etc. I will be devastated when she goes, we have a nice bond, even more so than my share.

I do get fond of friends horses, but i don't think i would ever be too upset if they sold them usually, probably just more upset for the person selling/ losing.
