As the weather was so lovely last Saturday we took Otto for a special walk, along the Wye River.
He had an absolutely fabulous time, was a very well behaved dog and was completely shattered by the time we turned to come home.
It's a lovely walk, I can highly recommend it for anyone in the locality! We started at Stowfield Viaduct and walked up the river to a pub at Goodrich called The Inn at Wye then back down the rive to the car. It took about 3 hours, including a stop at the pub (planned to have lunch, but timed it completely wrong
)
The Pub is completely dog friendly, they even have a water bowl and a jar of biscuits at the front door.
Unfortunately some of the walk is through an estate that requests you keep your dog on the lead, although some bright spark had smashed the sign up at the Stowfield end, so we didn't realise until we were at the other end of the estate
Had there been any sign of livestock on the fields I can assure you Otto would have been on his lead, but it was empty mowed medows all the way, plus we met a dog coming from the other direction off the lead, so didn't think anything of it!
Now for an overload of Otto pics
Are you sitting comfortably??
The river Wye.
Otto slightly unsure about being on a bridge!!
A pretty Church
Trying to make Otto pose, but he just wanted to get on with running around
I think this is Welsh Bicknor
Weeeeeeeeeeeee!
Our destination.
Kerne Bridge
Otto at the pub
Sitting in the garden as it was such a nice day, but he was allowed in, despite the pub looking far too posh for such a scruffy mutt!!
Goodrich Castle in the distance, this is Otto's next big outing
Practising the Stop whistle (he was to tired not to by this point!)
Otto walking
behind us
of his own free will
And finally my favourite shot of the day...
Otto posing beautifully beside a very randomly sited cross pole XC fence!
In conclusion, it only takes 3 hours of mad, non-stop running before Otto is tired enough to walk
However by the time we got home, Otto was ready to go again!
Thanks for looking. Apologies for the complete and utter overload, I was going to put the pictures of lasts nights walk in too, but I think that might be a little too many
So I'll bore you with another post instead
