Otto SWIMS!!!!

The boy has finally done it!! He plucked up the courage to swim, it is VERY funny, he does proper splashing desperatly trying to keep his head out the water

The only problem I have now is, he is after the ducks

Although the speed he is swimming at, they are in no danger!!

Im a bit scared to let my little on off anywhere deep enough to swin incase she wount cope back....she has the worst recall ever and isnt food motivated at all (unlike her mother!)

Otto isn't anything motivated

his recall is getting better, but luckily he sticks with us. Not by our sides, but he won't run off and he won't get left behind.

No pictures, I was too busy walking away so he would leave the Ducks alone

I wish I had a video of it. The first time he did it I couldn't call him away I was laughing so hard

I have a mother and daughter combo who are SO different...Piglet (mum) is vert food motivated and was a dream to train (within reason - shes still a JRT after all lol) Pumpkin is almost 7months and is the complete oposite...will stay within a 20feet radius of me off lead out walking and keeps stopping to check in following her but trying to get her back near enough to stick her back on the lead is a challange......
Piglet is a great paddler and will swin if required - most recently at last walking of a novice BE track where you had to cross a fast-ish flowing 'river' so we got her to test how deep ot is :O ...... bad mum that i am lol

Beau will go into water up to his tummy......... then stops and just watches the springers prance around in it!

HOWEVER, when there was a lab on the far side of a river that I hadnt seen, he suddenly knew how to swim and just dove in and off he went OUT THE OTHER SIDE! and set off with it!!! I was like AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! luckily the lab had good recall and the owner scruffed my little....... darling!

Otto has only ever gone up to his tummy after the falling headfirst into the lake incident! But recently the ducks have been tormenting him, so yesterday he gave in a went for it!
He is certainly not a natural swimmer

The first time Henry swam he jumped out on the wrong side too then looked really confused to see I wasn't there - he had been swimming round in circles after the ducks (which were taking the p!ss I think!) and I think he was a bit disorientated... I almost had a heart attack!

Ha ha! I expect a video the next time you go out!

I must say, I am quite relieved that Popple doesn't seem to want embrace her spaniel side when it comes to water

Yey!!

Well done Otto - will tell Sweep when I pick him up (I'm away with work so he is at my parents getting spoilt!) he wil be so chuffed you are behaving like a proper spaniel!!

Its the only thing Sweep doesn't do everyday at my parents - still will make up for lost time when he get home - will head straight to the brook!!
