He had great fun!

We thought he might not be too keen on the water, as he fell in the lake near us a few times when we first got him.

We went to a beach in Aberffraw, Anglesey (visiting OH's parents) and it is lovely there. There is a really long walk down to it with a shallow stream (at loow tide anyway!) running all the way along, so Otto got to get used to the water first.

Then we arrived at the beach and the water didn't bother him in the slightest! As he is still on the long line he didn't get a chance to go proper swimming, but we paddled. He was VERY well behaved!

Here's the pictures!

The view (It was bloody windy!)

Unfortunately we have now discovered Otto has slight issues with smaller dogs

He is very protective of anything he deems to be "his" around them, and will only play on his terms.
He doesn't do anything major, just growls and tells them to bog off. He was fine with my Parent's dogs, probably 'cos they is big ruff tuff gundogs!

Aww - looks like Otto was having a ball!! Maybe by the time he goes back he will ready for a proper swim and be able to chase those pesky seagulls. Was only thinking the other day it was time to take Sweep to the seaside as he hasn't been for a while and he loves it - usually falls asleep in the car before we leave the car park from all the seagull chasing!! although normally manages to wake up when we get fish & chips! :-)

PS Sweep only plays with any dog on his terms - the big wussy brat! to be honest he usually just potters around with any dogs and they usually end up squabbling over Sweep as they all think he is 'their' friend!

And here she was thinking how gorgeous he was looking with his wet, tusseled hair look....

Well it has only been with a tiny JRT and a tiny Yorkie, he was fine with my Mum's small cockers!

TBH I think he was just pretending to be tough as they ere letting him! If he meets a dog outside he is normally very submissive!
He also plays very rough and the smaller dogs were getting worried by his roughness, that's when he started being all manly and dominating!

Plus Popple is a lady, and half Springer, so she is good enough for him!

I was very tempted to let him off, as it is only rabbit scent he goes deaf on, plus he was pretty shattered before he got to the beach (had a hectic day the day before and lots of running around on the way to the beach!) but there was lots of people around (doesn't look it from the pictures!) and I had visions of him charging up to some small child and sending them flying! He loves people, so he would of had to say hello to everyone!
But he is getting better behaved everyday, so hopefully soon, he can start going off the lead!

He was zonked afterwards! Spent the rest of the day fast asleep!

It's the Irish Sea he was swimming in

Mwahaha, my evil plan to convert you to Spangles is working

He pulls of the wet tousled look well doesn't he??

He is very glad to be home, and without any annoying terriers! He hasn't been this relaxed since before we werehouse-sitting
