I thought riding was the only dangourous job i had. I work part time with horses I also have three cleaning jobs and one gerdening job. Today i did the horses in the morning then went to the next village to do my gardening job. I was pulling up stinging nettles from under a tree and i was consentraiting so hard on not getting stung i got poked in the eye by a twig on the tree! :o
I rinsed my eye and it hurt but seemed ok. I got home and got Lucy ready to ride i got half way up the road and my eye started killing me. I couldn't open either eye. I was so glad i was on Lucy i just turned her round and she took me home. I swear she should be a riding for the disabled pony. She's such a superstar. My eye still hurts now but i can open it a bit.
So if anyone tells you horses are dangourous there wrong, Gardening is so much worse I think i may have to put my fee up to include danger money :p anyway thats it anyone who hates doing there garden you now have an excuse.

wow what a busy person you are you must be wrecked by your day off.

i always knew there was a reason why i hated gardening so thank you for underlining it lol.

i find gardening and exercises go hand in hand, do you know how many people die whilst they are out jogging  :p :D

Hope you feel better soon

Ouch sounds painfull hope its alright. I dont really think of horses as dangerous anymore obviously there is a risk factor but if we concentrate too much on this i think we just end up never doing anything. Im very much the kind of person that says things like you can just as easilly fall off the curb and get hit by a car as i am to fall off my horse and hurt myself just take everything in my stride really.

Lucy is such a super star for taking you home though!!

Thanks guys i think i'll live. just :p :D
Ginger_nut. I think the same way as you realy. When my surgon told me i shouldn't ride anymore in case i fell off and smashed my hip i said to him i could just as easily fall down the stairs or trip on the cerb and land on my hip wrong. Better not tell him i now have Herbie He'll prob have heart failer LOL

Oh gaawd you okay?!!! Maybe you should have a doc have a look?

Oh, and sorry to say, this did make me giggle a bit - you're out galloping about on loony ponies and then you end up getting hurt by a twig :p

And Lucy really does sound like a superstar!! :) xx

LOL violetstripe. I know it's silly isn't it all the times Herbie has bucked, reared and lept and i havn't fallen off once but stick my head near a tree and look what happens. :p :D :D
Lucy was fantastic there was lots of cars on the road and i couldn't get out the way quick enough for one car and he started beeping his horn. Lucy didn't care though she just knew she had to look after her mummy. :D I rode most of the way back with my eyes shut. Like i said i'm so glad i was on Lucy.

Funny you should say that I have two gardening jobs and today while I was clearing nettles from under a tree a stick scraped my ear and drew blood.

On a more positive note seconds before I went to water a plant pot that sits in an old chimney by the greenhouse I heard lots of squeaking. I gently lifted up the pot and in the base of the chimney was a nest with 5 baby chicks. I quickly replaced it and told the owner the plant had to die and she being a nature lover agreed that she had never liked it that much anyway.

@LauraWheeler
I must admit, this is hard to top ...
... but I ruptured my achilles tendon on the right leg four weeks ago at the theatre while playing tag to warm us up !:mad::mad:
After the surgery I'm now sitting at home in a small village, without local public transport and not able to drive my car and to reach my horse a quarter of mile away. AAAAAARGHHHHH !!!

But riding the craziest loony horse in the stable and nothing severe happens with him. :o
