Not a good weekend!
On friday I had a jumping lesson booked so half and hour before hand went to put some lidnocane in Hovis' mouth to numb the gum where his tooth is coming through. I had thought all three fingers were safely in the bridge of his teeth..... until he shut his mouth...........
OMG I have never known anything HURT so much. He'd shut his jaw on the ring finger of my right hand. I couldn't get him to open his jaw (I don't think he knew what he'd done) so caused even more damage ripping my finger out of his mouth. There was blood everywhere and for the first time in years I nearly fainted.
Cue trip on sat to A&E (I refused to go on friday night), xrays, tetnus jab and a course of huge antibiotics. He's mangled the top part of my ring finger including the nail.

OUCH!!
On a plus note Hovis jumped brilliantly for my instructor so maybe he's got a taste for blood!!

Hubby just commented that I was not going to get any sympathy as I was stupid enough to put my hand in a horses mouth!
I was also requested to stop bleeding all over him - I do love my other half!!

Poor you - these chaps do have huge gobs - Cairo (by total accident due to his poor eyesight) when putting his bridle on once opened his big gob and shut it promptly on the side of my boob - luckily my scream made him open it again quickly.

I then had to explain the massive "love bite" to OH who thought it really funny - OHs are so sympathetic though Stinky got him back though - headbutted him in the stones following week

Hope the finger is good as new soon. I will have two large four year old gobs from tomorrow to deal with so have carefully noted your warning.
