Yes Sh*tbag (aka Mackenzie) pressed the big red ejection button last night and skyrocketed me into the sunny blue evening skies of East Yorkshire.
Reason for this outrageous behaviour? first time hed clocked eyes on the new arrival (YOs mare gave birth to lovely coloured colt foal the other week) and they happened to be out in the field next to the school.
I should of known this would have been far too exciting for Mr Mackenzies thick little head to take in.
Soon as I led him into the school he turned into stallion mode (god knows what he was thinking) but I struggled even leading him around the school so I thought it wasnt a good time to get on, so carried on leading him around till he calmed a little, then jumped on, lasted about 10 seconds and got off before he threw me as I decided to sensible (for once) and lunge him first so he could jump/leap/buck bust what ever super star shapes he liked without me being on his back.
Anyway it worked, he calmed down a little and the mare the foal wandered off to the far side of the field, so it was safe for me to get on, started to get some concentration back from him and out came the YO and wife
''hope youve got your velcro jods on cos your going need them, where bringing Misty and the foal in
But I stupidly thought no no I carry on, hes got to learn to behave and he might be ok now anyway.
How wrong was I
Soon as the mare and foal got to the gate, you could literally feel the blood rush round his body, he grew about 5 hands, eyes on stalks, huffing, puffing and squealing, they got out of the gate and round the corner out of view, he gave me a few warning bucks (basically he does warn you and gives you a small window of opportunity to remove yourself before he means business) but I thought nope and asked him to go forward, he did a few mini rears (to build momentum up of course) and delivered an almighty buck (knew there was no chance I was sitting that one out!) and so deposited me on the school floor.
While gracefully sailing through the air like a sack of bricks, all sorts of things went through my mind in that split second (its like slow motion)
Dont stand on my hands!
Dont kick out as I land!
Dont let go of the reins actually do let go of the reins so the above doesnt happen!
Are both my feet out of the stirrups?
Is this going to hurt?
Dont get tangled up in your reins! (thats the horse)
Dont escape out of the school!
Thank god Ive got my BP on!
I really should of replaced my hat from last time I came off!
*BUMP*
Thankfully those wood chippings are amazing little things and cushion your fall, so I sprang to my feet and managed to catch him before he got out of the school and back on where I proceeded to warn him that if he dare do it again Id be calling Websters to come and pick him up and hed been in a can of Winerlot quicker than he could draw his next breath!
So he's chirstened me in the school now as well as out on hacks.
Naughty ponio.
Any takers?
