My bum that is!........... I was feeding in the field and stupidly got between 2 horses and the bucket just as they were all mooching and exploring each others empty buckets. What did I get for my stupidity? A huge horse sized bite on the buttock, one that was meant for other horse and so came with all the strength that they reserve for each other. I really thought that I was going to find a huge chunk hanging off my buttock and nearly passed out with the pain. Whilst trying to get myself safely out of the field I then ended up face down in the deep mud by the gate. I was pretty hysterical by the time I actually got out of the field. I managed to drive myself and girls home sitting rather one sided in the car and made Martin go over and finish horses with Sami with a tearful call to him as I set off home. And, after all that pain, what do I have to show for it - a poxy bruise and that is it. I'm grateful really but cannot believe how much it hurt nor how sore it is today. Have promised to take the girls out today so am just hoping I can drive.

You have my total sympathy having been on the receiving end of one of those kicks myself. Albeit from a baby horse that wasn't shod and in close proximity so she couldn't get too much power behind it.

Give it a day or two and your bruise will look much better and way more colourful

as did my daughter and partner (when they dared) The girls just decided it was a brilliant opportunity to play doctors and took every chance to prod my sore bit that they could!

Oh yes, and I could hear the little pony it was intended for saying "ouch, bet that hurt, rather her than me"

I was jumped on today by my friend's spooky boy and when the horse turned his head quickly to see what was screeching, I was worried his nose had knocked my teeth out!

I feel for you

At least I can sit down!

Its sort of at the top of the thigh/bottom of the buttock so sitting is very one sided at the moment. There is a large fluid filled area that squishes when touched and I think that is where the worst of the pain is coming from. Wasn't quite so bad this morning but is now horrendous again - I am such a puff!

I got bitten about 18 months ago by a nasty horse....even though I had a coat and a jumper on it drew blood. This is before it went purple and very scabby!!!

mmm.........that makes mine look very very insignificant - but it still hurts! That must have been so very painful. They can do so much damage if they want to can't they. Beginning to think I was very lucky really!
